Despite going to school together since elementary, riding the same bus at one point, and living in the same neighborhood, Emily had no idea who Zach was until he told their whole first period class that she was his girlfriend during the last month of her senior year of high school. It became a running joke between them, and amongst their friends at school. Emily would tell him “Zach! We are NOT in a relationship!” to which hed respond “Not with that attitude!” What followed was some witty banter, relationship counseling with invested students in the class, and finally a real date for a cup of coffee and a church service at Zachs church, Pathway.

Emily fell fast for his sense of humor and gentlemanly nature. Zachary loved her loyalty and compassion. Both were bonded over their shared love for Jesus. Over the last 4 years, their relationship has been tested with a pandemic, long distance, and sadly, losing some loved ones along the way…..but their commitment to one another remains true. They’ve bonded over a lot of music, MANY concerts, a few fun-filled vacations, and SO. MUCH. LAUGHTER.

Then in June of 2023, Zachary surprised Emily with the most beautiful proposal at one of her most favorite places in the world, her grandparents’ lake. And with the blessing of their families, the presence of their favorite people (that’s you!), and under the guidance of their Lord and Savior, they will join together in marriage on Saturday, September 14, 2024. They’re so excited to begin this new journey together!
