Absolutely! We love your kids, and we would love to celebrate with them. Please let us know when you RSVP if you need any accommodations to make bringing your tot more convenient, like extra space for a highchair at the table, a separate room to breastfeed, etc. At the same time, if it's easier for you to attend without your baby in tow, we completely understand. Make the decision that makes sense for you and your family.
Help, I have no idea how to participate in a Catholic Mass.
Not to worry! You certainly aren't the only one. Our wedding programs will explain how to participate in the Mass with transcriptions of the scripture readings, music, responses, and hints such as "please sit" or "please stand." In general, the motions are relatively self-explanatory; if others are standing, you should stand, etc. Your participation is encouraged, but please know that no one expects you to say prayers or make statements of faith that do not reflect your beliefs.
Where should I park at the Carnegie Building?
There is a parking garage further north up the block and a parking lot across the street. Parking is free for two hours in both locations and after 6 PM.
To avoid a parking ticket, you can move your car every two hours or pay for your parking until 6 PM with the Park Mobile app.
If you need a handicap parking space, you may use the spaces attached to the venue, which you do not need to pay for. Otherwise, please seek parking in the adjacent lots or garage.
Is the Carnegie Building handicap accessible?
Yes! If you need a handicap parking space, you may use the free spaces attached to the venue. There are two entrances to our reception venue: the main entrance facing 9th St. (pictured above) and a wheelchair-accessible entrance facing Vermont St. To enter our reception from the accessible entrance, go through the doors and take the elevator on your right. If you do not require the elevator, we ask that you use the main south-facing entrance.
What can I expect at the reception?
Dinner's on us! Please bring cash or a credit card for our cash bar service. Our music selection may not be appropriate for young kids.
