We both attended Indiana University and started classes in the fall of 2016. As fate would have it, our first class of freshman year was a class that we had together. We got to know each other through Greek Life events, as my sorority and his fraternity often did events together.

We started dating officially in January of 2018 and enjoyed all of college together! We had the chance to travel together for spring break, visit new cities for fraternity formals and attend every summer country concert Indiana had to offer.

In May of 2020, we graduated from IU during the prime of the pandemic. We then endured a long 2.5 years of long distance as I went off to Physician Assistant school in Miami, FL and Jon-Luc started medical school at Indiana University.

On December 30, 2021, on a quick New Years trip to Nashville, Jon-Luc asked me to marry him with a story book proposal. He surprised me with our parents and all of our friends to celebrate the next chapter of our lives together.

Our busy lives in PA and medical school led to us choosing a longer engagement for us to be able to celebrate without the stress of school! We will have been engaged for 2.5 years by the time we say "I Do," but we wouldn't change the extra special time this season of engagement has been in our lives.

Jon-Luc will graduate from medical school and become Dr. Poirier on May 12, 2024. A short few weeks later, we will tie the knot and finally begin our lives together that we have long anticipated!
