As my twin sister, Hannah has been by my side from day one. She is the strongest, kindest, and most caring person I know. Though I am a minute older (and always made sure she knew it), Hannah is someone I have and always will look up to! I am incredibly blessed to have her as my sister and best friend. My big day wouldn’t be complete without Hannah by my side!
Joe Fassbender - Best Man
Joe and Mitch were randomly paired together as roommates in college. They quickly bonded over their love of craft beer and Wisconsin sports. They spent all of Mitch's four years of college rooming together (Joe stayed for a 5th year to get his Master's because he's a smarty-pants) and they've never grown apart. Joe went on to marry Emma's sister (Mitch and Emma are great match makers), so upon completion of the wedding, he'll transition from best man to best brother-in-law.
Izzy Dreischmeier - Bridesmaid
As you can imagine growing up it was often two against one (with Izzy the odd one out). If I was to get in trouble as a child, however, it was usually after teaming up with Izzy. I am thankful for a partner in crime who has taught me to "let loose" and not take things so seriously! Can’t wait to party with Izzy by my side!
Jay Moritz - Groomsman
Jay's dad and Mitch's dad both went to high school together in Kiel, WI and stayed friends ever since. They both had their eldest children near the same time and since then, Jay and Mitch grew up essentially as brothers. Through their childhood, Jay and Mitch would spend time at the cabin their parents owned together swimming, fishing, playing PlayStation, shooting expired soda cans with the pellet gun, riding plastic toy tricycles down the hill, and annoying their sisters. Years later, they still hang out together enjoying whiskey and an occasional cigar.
Alyssa Hickmann - Bridesmaid
One of the things I look forward to about being an “official” Hickmann is gaining another sister! Alyssa has been so supportive of my relationship with Mitch and has always made me feel welcome in the family. She has the biggest heart and can keep quite the secret as she was the only person Mitch told about his plans to propose! I look forward to all of the family memories ahead starting with our big day!
Max Kemp - Groomsman
Max and Mitch met in college. Their friendship started with a single snapchat. They went from dorm room neighbors, to apartment neighbors, to senior design teammates; and after graduation, they became coworkers! Between work, golf, or just hanging out watching a random sports game, rarely a week goes by where Max and Mitch don't see each other at least once.
Bailey McCarville - Bridesmaid
From physics and physiology classes to four years of pharmacy school Bailey was not only my study buddy but easily one of my best friends! Library sessions together often started productive but quickly turned into dreaming of life after graduation…and here we are! It is an honor to have you by my side for one of those biggest dreams coming true!
Nathan Sliefert - Groomsman
Nathan (better known as "Slief") and Mitch never lived together in college, but they spent all four of their years at MSOE as neighbors. Two years in the dorms and two years in their apartments. Slief and Mitch shared a mutual love of beer and sports so they clicked rather quickly.
Paulina Mohapp - Bridesmaid
Paulina and I met through Mitch and Matt (who went to college together) but we quickly bonded over the stress of grad school, volleyball nights at the Wisco bar, and out-waiting all of our mutual friends for engagement rings! Cheers to the girl who knew my pain of waiting nearly a decade; I couldn’t celebrate this day without you!
Blake Campshure - Groomsman
Blake and Mitch also went to MSOE together, again as neighbors in the dorms and neighbors in their apartments. When all of the other roommates were away playing baseball, Blake and Mitch would hit the gym together and then come back to the apartment to eat, watch sports, and do homework. Blake now lives two states away, but it's not uncommon for one of them to call the other to randomly debate sports, and then for that call to last 3 hours.
Matt Mohapp - Usher
Matt and Mitch both went to MSOE. During their time at school, they were more friends of friends and didn't see each other much. However after they both graduated, they both moved to Madison and started to hang out more watching sports, playing volleyball and disc golf, and trying to outsmart the ladies (Emma and Paulina) in Euchre or Decrypto.
John Dzurka - Usher
John and Mitch went to MSOE together as well. Their paths didn't cross much at school, but one fateful afternoon in Madison a year after graduation, Mitch looked up at volleyball league and saw John walking by to join his own team. Mitch caught him, they arranged a time to get together to watch the Packers, and the rest is history. Now, Mitch and Emma live right up the road in Stoughton from John and his wife, Bridget and daughter, Hazel. They all hang out often, usually when there's a construction project or if one of them needs help emptying the beer fridge.
