Q + A

What's the wedding itinerary?

Please see the homepage of our website

When must we RSVP by?

RSVP by June 30, 2025. Do not RSVP if you do not intend on attending as are venue charges approximately $100 per person. If you need to cancel, PLEASE let us know as soon as possible so we can invite someone in your place

Do I need a National Park Pass?

Yes. You will need a pass for the reception as it is within the Banff National Park. See https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/tarifs-fees for prices and options. Day passes are only valid for Banff National Park, however Discovery Passes are valid for all Canadian National Parks and Heritage sites for 12 months from purchase month.

Do I need a Kananaskis Conservation Pass?

No. You do not need the Kananaskis Conservation Pass to attend the wedding or the day after celebration. The church is within Canmore city limits and is exempt, and we have confirmed with the Banff Gate Mountain Resort, the day after celebration location, that they are not included in the boundaries for the Kananaskis Conservation Pass. You will need a Kananaskis pass if you are wanting to explore the greater provincial park area. See https://www.alberta.ca/kananaskis-conservation-pass for more details.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Yes. To reduce the gap we are giving guests the option to arrive at the reception venue as early as 3:30 p.m. for tea and coffee, and to provide a space for gathering and socializing. There is a sight seeing chair lift at Mt. Norquay that guests can enjoy at a discounted rate, and downtown Banff and Canmore are beautiful locations that can easily be explored while dressed up. Maybe you and other attendees would like to find picturesque places around the mountains for your own photo opportunities while you are dressed up! Great locations include Banff's Town Hall and gardens, or the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Are plus ones allowed?

We would like to keep the guest list just to those who know us well. However, feel free to reach out to us for possible exceptions.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be held inside the church, and the reception will be held inside the Norquay ski lodge.

What's the dress code for your wedding? Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

The dress code is semi formal. Alberta weather can be variable and it may be a chilly day, or a very hot day. The ceremony and the reception are both indoors. The only color restriction is no white dresses.

Is there parking available at the church and the venue? What about the day after celebration

Yes, there are large parking lots at both the church and the venue. There is parking available at the day after celebration as well. You may leave your car overnight at the venue, and pick it up the following day for free.

What type of food will be served?

We'll be serving afternoon tea, hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails followed by a sit-down buffet dinner. There will be meat, gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan option available for those who note their dietary restrictions when they complete their RSVP.

Will there be an open bar?

No. The bar will be served by the venue, drink prices quoted range from $8.50-14.20 per drink. Cash and card accepted.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We kindly ask that you keep our ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day. You are welcome to take pictures throughout the rest of the day and at the reception!

Is it okay to post wedding photos on social media?

Yes

Did you book a group camp site?

We did not make any reservations as nobody voiced interest when we sent out save the dates.

Do you have a gift registry?

No. We own most essentials, but are in need of furniture for when we purchase a house. For this reason, we are creating a Furniture Fund instead of a traditional wedding registry. If you want to contribute to it, we will be creating a joint account that money can be transferred to. If it is not financially responsible for you to contribute, please don't! We are just as happy for you to be showing us your love and support by attending our wedding day and celebrating with us. If you would like to personalize your contributions to the Furniture Fund, please include your personal recommendations and words of advice!
