Is this a Catholic Mass Ceremony?
What to expect at our wedding ceremony
Don’t worry if you’re not a practicing Catholic. Our wedding ceremony is open to people of any faith or no faith. Guests are not expected to do anything difficult. The role of guests at the ceremony is simply to supportively witness the wedding.
Our wedding will take place during a Catholic Mass (as is traditional). In any Catholic Mass, there are several points where the congregation prays, sings, or says a creed together. Non-Catholic guests are welcome to participate or not participate at these times. Father Michael will also give guidance throughout the ceremony.
Near the end of the Mass, the congregation comes forward to receive Jesus’ body and blood under the appearance of bread and wine (the Eucharist). If you’re not a practicing Catholic, please do not receive the Eucharist. We encourage you to come forward to receive a blessing; please cross your arms over your chest to indicate that you are not receiving the Eucharist. You’re also welcome to simply stay in your seat during this time.
How you can take part in our wedding right now?
Please pray for us!
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We kindly ask that phones and cameras are put away during the wedding ceremony. We have hired professionals to capture our wedding and celebration and want you to join us in prayer during the sacrament of matrimony.
Are children welcome at the wedding?
Yes, please! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone on the dance floor!
How close is the reception to the church? Can we go there after the wedding?
The reception is at Lavender & Olive in Ramona, CA. This is about a 20 minute drive. Please feel free to go straight to the reception venue for cocktail hour and we will meet you there!
Will there be options for allergies or dietary restrictions?
Yes! When submitting your RSVP please indicate any allergies or dietary restrictions so we can plan accordingly.
Can I bring a plus one?
To ensure we can accommodate all guests comfortable within the venue's capacity, we ask that only invited guests attend our wedding festivities. You'll find the details about party size, including whether it includes a plus one, on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celerate with you!
What should i wear to the wedding?
The suggested dress code for our wedding day is semi formal to cocktail attire. We suggest men wear a suit or dress shirt with a tie. Women wear a cocktail dress or a nice pantsuit.
Please note the ceremony will be in the Catholic church. The reception will be in an outdoor patio garden setting.
