Often, we fail to remember the most basic and essential parts of life. We forget the truth about who we are, what we are made for, and where we are headed. In this forgetfulness, we buy into the twisted truths about what will make us happy.
God, aware of our tendency towards forgetfulness, gave us the sacraments. A sacrament is a visible sign of an invisible reality that serves as a material reminder of the real presence of God's grace.
As Catholics, we believe marriage is one of these sacraments. It is more than a religious ceremony, more than a momentous milestone, and more than a way for the State to recognize the union of two people. Instead, the sacrament of marriage is a lifelong commitment, of mutual and exclusive fidelity, established between one man and one woman, and ordered towards the sanctification of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring
Felix and I are so excited for you to come and celebrate this promise of God's grace within our relationship. Please join us in a prayer, that as husband and wife, Felix and I may remind one another each and every day for the rest of our lives of the basic truths of life; namely, that we are beloved children of God, we are made to commune in His love, and we made for eternity with Him.
