Like all classic love stories, Josh and Emma met on Bumble, the modern version of bumping into each other at a coffee shop. For those of you fortunate enough to avoid the wonders of internet dating, Bumble is an app that matches potential dates based on their location. Josh had been wrapping up a project in Cherry Hill that was located just a short distance from the surgery center where Emma works. The stars, and the algorithms, aligned.


Josh made the first move on a Sunday night, and impatiently waited for Emmas response. True to herself, she ignored the notification on her phone and nearly let her time to respond run out. Fortunately for both of them, she responded in the 23rd hour and lit the fire that eventually brought us all here. They hit it off instantly and were up talking past midnight, making dinner plans for a few days later. The next morning, Emma awoke to a message from Josh telling her he didnt want to wait. Let’s go tonight. I’ll pick you up.”


This was the first of many displays of Josh’s tenacity that stole Emma’s heart. After spending ample time stalking Josh online to be sure he wasn’t crazy, Emma agreed to let Josh pick her up. Little did she know, the bearded man in his redneck pickup would steal her heart, and her partner-in-crime Tucker would steal his dog Rosies heart.


Over the next week, they were nearly inseparable. Somehow, in just over two weeks time, Josh managed to convince Emma to bring him to her family barbecue on the 4th of July. When Emma initially told her family she was bringing a guest, her mom Pat responded with a blunt “I dont believe you.” Her sister Liz immediately sent screenshots of his social media to their family group chat confirming that yes, Emma really had met someone she wanted to bring home. Following that 4th of July weekend, Pat called Liz to tell her she thought she had just met her future son-in-law.


Joshs family was thrilled to hear about Emma, seeing how happy he was to have met The One. Emma quickly found a friendship with Megan, Joshs sister, who she now considers a sister of her own. Josh then took Emma and his mom, Betty, out to dinner to introduce them. He regretted this nearly instantly, as he couldnt get a word in with the two of them to save his life. Joshs dad Jim was the last to meet Emma, and stole her heart with the gift of his own baby bracelet from his birth. True to his reserved self, he immediately asked when there would be a grandchild to wear the bracelet.


By the end of the summer, Josh and Emma had become favorites in each others families. Over the next several months they continued to fall more in love with each other and their families. Josh and Emmas dad John became a regular duo at family functions, and he even got Josh to break away from work for some golf (no one tell Emma!).


Rosie and Tucker would not see things go so swimmingly. Unfortunately for Rosie, the feelings were not mutual. Despite Tuckers lack of interest, Rosie has remained true to her stubborn self and still pursues him to this day.
