This post is largely concerned with the couple, and from it, readers may discover much of their character and a little of their history.
Our story begins at the University of Vermont, in the Marché (if you know, you know). A handsome cashier was scanning items for an extremely stressed out undergraduate student. Their eyes met, she thought he was wicked cute (he thought the same), but the timing wasn't quite right for our young lovers.
Five years passed and their paths crossed again on a magical dating app called Bumble. They swiped right, she mentioned the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films and he immediately asked her out on a date. A week later they shared their first kiss in Ake's Place (again, if you know, you know). They liked each other so much they went on 3 dates in the first week they knew one another. After Emma served Greg an incredible roast chicken (thanks, Ina Garten) he decided she was girlfriend material.
The couple faced a difficult road forward, filled with tragedies, hardships and global pandemics, but with grief and sadness there was also love and strength. Whatever came their way, they would face it together.
Four years later, on a perfect July day, Greg asked if Emma would marry him and she said "Of course!" And so, their adventure begins.
