Our Wedding

Dan &amp; Emme officially met on Halloween night of 2019. Their mutual friend, Nathan Jurjevich (Groomsman), introduced them at his apartment for a scary movie night and drinks. During the movie, the temperature in the apartment &amp; outside dropped as 10.31.2019 was a particularly cold night for Alabama. Half way through the movie, Emme's toes got cold and unconsciously tucked her feet underneath Dan's thigh. Later on, Dan revealed that that moment was what made him want to pursue Emme. The next week, Nathan &amp; Dan competed in a volleyball competition at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Emme went to cheer the boys on during the competition. After everyone arrived back to Birmingham, Dan messaged Emme on Instragram asking if she would like to go get ice cream at Edgewood Creamery at 9pm in 30 degree weather. Of course, Emme said yes. They spent the night eating ice cream and driving around downtown Birmingham. In the following weeks, Dan would message Emme on instagram to talk about all sorts of subjects. As typical, Emme was oblivious to Dan's intentions. One night, he asked her over to his apartment to cook her a gourmet dinner of homemade gnocchi and shrimp while Emme baked homemade snickerdoodle cookies. Emme believed he just wanted to be good friends. However, she saw that he spent $17 on one block of cheese (as a college student) and realized he was trying to impress her &amp; was interested in her. After that night, their relationship fell into place. They started officially dating on 12.02.2019! Little did they know, they would be getting engaged about 2.5 years later, have a happy puppy, &amp; a home together in Birmingham, Alabama.

Daniel Alejandro Novoa was born on 01.07.1999 in San Salvador, El Salvador to Carmen Giron and Manuel Pacheco Novoa. Daniel spent his childhood growing up in El Salvador and spending his summers in Tuscaloosa, Alabama with his Aunt, Uncle, &amp; Cousins. Upon finished high school in El Salvador, Daniel moved to Birmingham, Alabama to attend school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham to study Public Health. Currently, he resides in Birmingham, Alabama with Emme Praydich &amp; their dog, Porkchop. He is completing his Master's program at UAB for Public Health with a concentration in Health Behavior. He is set to graduate with his Master's Degree in May of 2023.

Emme Praydich

Emme Lane Praydich was born on 09.04.1997 in Dalton, Georgia to Linda Praydich. Emme spent her childhood growing up in the state of Georgia, mainly in Waleska, Georgia, outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Upon finishing high school in Cherokee County, Emme moved to Birmingham, Alabama to study Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Upon graduating, she became a Registered Nurse for UAB Hospital in the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit. Currently, Emme resides in Birmingham, Alabama with Daniel Novoa &amp; their dog, Porkchop. She is working as a Registered Nurse in the ICU Float Pool at UAB while attending UAB's School of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner Student. She is set to graduate in August of 2023 as Family Nurse Practitioner.

Wedding Venue

Our venue is located roughly 25-minutes outside of Birmingham in Springville, Alabama. It is a beautiful and quiet area that is considered residential and overlooks a small mountain scape! Due to its location, we recommend having a mode of transport to the venue and to allot your travel time prior to the wedding. Unfortunately, due to the area, there is no hotels within a couple minutes of the venue. Therefore, we have recommended areas to book hotels and have provided a hotel block for our guests.

Our wedding venue is a manor that sits on a mountain that looks out over trees and shows a beautiful mountain landscape. There is highly accessible parking right outside of the venue that is handicap friendly. Our Ceremony will be located in the gardens adjacent to the manor and the reception will be located in the ballroom.

Accomodations

There is a countless number of hotels in the Birmingham Area. You have your choice of AirBnBs, boutique hotels, or classic hotel options. We recommend staying relatively close to a highway for easy travel access, the Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, and Hoover areas, and to stay clear of booking downtown due to increased prices and difficulty maneuvering the streets. We have provided a hotel block for Sonesta ES &amp; Suites, linked below. We have also recommended other quality hotels on the same road that have good reviews from friends and family who have previously stayed there as well.

Sonesta ES &amp; Suites nestled in Birmingham in an easily accessible area. We chose this location due to its location and kitchenette areas. This location has easy access to main roadways and is a short 20-minute drive away from the venue.

Transportation Options

The Birmingham Area&nbsp;is widely spread out compared to other cities. We recommend either driving yourself in a personal vehicle or renting a car if flying into the area. Information on the Airport and Transport Station is listed below.

The airport is located 15 minutes from downtown. Birmingham is not really a city that you can travel around without a car, we recommend renting a car from the airport's car rental services if you are flying into town.

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport

If you are not a fan of flying or driving yourself, Birmingham has a Greyhound Bus Station and Amtrak Train Station located downtown. You will be able to get an Uber from this site to your hotel. However, we recommend renting a car for transporting yourself to the wedding venue.

Travel

The Vulcan is a staple of Birmingham! A ticket is around $5 per person and it will get you access to the museum and ride the elevator (or take the stairs...) up to the lookout platform where Dan &amp; Emme were engaged at! The museum may be small but it has fantastic information about the Vulcan &amp; Birmingham's history.

Vulcan Park and Museum

This historic landmark is known for creating pig iron. This site is beautiful in its own rusty way! It's fun to go to this free attraction and take in the sights! Maybe you'll even hear some moaning from the local ghosts that haunt the furnaces after their deaths in the 1900s.

Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark

If you need a nice walk to stretch the legs, please go to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens! March is the perfect time to see all the flowers in bloom! The green house is lovely year round with their cacti and rainforest exhibits. Best of all - it's free!

Birmingham Botanical Gardens

This is Emme's favorite thing to do in Birmingham on a Saturday morning! The Pepper Place Farmer's Market is open from 7am to 12pm on Saturdays. The area gets its name from the old Dr. Pepper factory that has been refurbished for shops, cafes, and the market!

If you are looking to spend some time learning about science and doing fun activities, McWane is the place for you! The tickets are really cheap and there is an IMax theater in the center.
