Dan & Emme officially met on Halloween night of 2019. Their mutual friend, Nathan Jurjevich (Groomsman), introduced them at his apartment for a scary movie night and drinks. During the movie, the temperature in the apartment & outside dropped as 10.31.2019 was a particularly cold night for Alabama. Half way through the movie, Emme's toes got cold and unconsciously tucked her feet underneath Dan's thigh. Later on, Dan revealed that that moment was what made him want to pursue Emme.

The next week, Nathan & Dan competed in a volleyball competition at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Emme went to cheer the boys on during the competition. After everyone arrived back to Birmingham, Dan messaged Emme on Instragram asking if she would like to go get ice cream at Edgewood Creamery at 9pm in 30 degree weather. Of course, Emme said yes. They spent the night eating ice cream and driving around downtown Birmingham.

In the following weeks, Dan would message Emme on instagram to talk about all sorts of subjects. As typical, Emme was oblivious to Dan's intentions. One night, he asked her over to his apartment to cook her a gourmet dinner of homemade gnocchi and shrimp while Emme baked homemade snickerdoodle cookies. Emme believed he just wanted to be good friends. However, she saw that he spent $17 on one block of cheese (as a college student) and realized he was trying to impress her & was interested in her.

After that night, their relationship fell into place. They started officially dating on 12.02.2019! Little did they know, they would be getting engaged about 2.5 years later, have a happy puppy, & a home together in Birmingham, Alabama.
