Airports

San Diego International Airport (SAN)- This is the closest major airport to Oceanside (where most people will choose to stay), offering the most commercial flight options.&nbsp;It's a shorter drive than flying into Orange County and is served by the North County Coaster train line for transportation. John Wayne Airport (SNA)- This airport is approximately the same distance from Oceanside as San Diego International Airport.&nbsp;Some people find it easier to navigate, though others prefer the drive into San Diego.

Where to Stay

Most people should choose to stay in Oceanside, CA as this is where shuttle service will be operating out of and the welcome party will be held. It has beautiful beaches, as well as lots of restaurants and shops. We currently only have room blocks for the Springhill Suites. Below are a few vetted options which are all very close to one another, but feel free to choose another hotel in the area. If you choose to stay in an AIRBNB they will be first come first serve and have various rules on how far in advanced you can reserve your stay. Please keep in mind distance from the welcome party, wedding venue, and the pre-arranged transportation services.

Beach Activities

Sun tan, surf, boogie board, or stroll on the beach! There is also a pier to go fishing off of right in Oceanside by the hotels. There are many rental shops right by the beach to get your beach activity supplies. Check your hotel- they might have it for free!

Wine Tasting

If you feel like traveling inland there are lots of wineries and vineyards within driving distance! Tourist Attractions

Top Gun HouseThis is super close to the hotels– you will most likely stumble upon it just leaving your hotel in the morning. It is a quick stop to snap a picture and grab a pie. Harbor VillageLittle area to walk around, look at gift shops, eat, and possibly see some sea life! (Definitely touristy)

Explore North County and San Diego

If you feel like exploring outside of Oceanside we encourage you too! If you have a car it is worth driving to some of the local towns by the ocean. See the spots that we go to in our daily life that are away from the tourist hustle and bustle– Encinitas, Carlsbad, Del Mar, and La Jolla are all fun to explore with great food and fun activities. San Diego is our home and we would love for you to explore it while you are here to see a little of where we live. Downtown is nice but if you want to see how the locals live, go to Coronado, Ocean Beach (OB), Pacific Beach (PB), and Bird Rock.
