How should I dress?
We don't care much what you wear, we are just happy to have you celebrating with us on the island! However, we recommend that folks plan for semi-formal/dressy casual attire for the day's events. May in Western Washington can be rainy and a tad bit chilly in the evenings, so it is a good idea to pack a light coat!
For the days you are here besides the wedding, we highly recommend getting out into nature and exploring the island. It will likely be muddy at the state park/on trails across the island, so bring a pair of decent hiking shoes/boots!
What kind of weather should I expect?
Spring on the Islands is SUPER beautiful. The flowers are blooming and the resort is not super busy. Prepare for the chance of rain, and plan on ~50 degree days and ~40 degree nights. When it rains in the PNW, it normally only drizzles (and it definitely makes the earth's colors come alive!).
Is there any childcare at Roche?
The resort does not offer any on site child care. Our wedding will be kid-free with the exception of the wedding party so you can kick back, relax, and enjoy the evening!
Can we arrive the day of the wedding?
We do NOT recommend planning to arrive the day of the wedding. The ferry schedules are not always reliable, and we'd ask that you arrive the day prior to avoid any delays. Hotel check in is at 4 pm (which is our ceremony time) so please be here the day before. We want to celebrate with you!!!
What travel itinerary do Lizzie and Erich recommend for their out-of-town guests?
We know it is an adventure to get to our wedding venue, especially for the majority of our guests who are coming from Colorado! But, we hope that our wedding can be a vacation opportunity to the PNW that you will never forget :)
We recommend folks fly into Seattle on Wednesday May 14th/early Thursday May 15th, drive up to Roche immediately, take the ferry, and stay their first night (Thursday) at the resort. Then, folks can stay on through Saturday evening and head back down to Seattle Sunday! Take a look at our "things to do" page for more info about Saturday activities. If you have some flexibility in your schedule, we also highly recommend spending some time in Seattle while you are here! The beer, wine, outdoor activities, sporting events, and concert venues in Seattle are amazing. We are so excited to celebrate with you!
Can I bring a plus one?
To keep our wedding small and intimate, we can only accommodate those who are specifically addressed on the invitations. If a guest is included, it will be noted on the website when you RSVP.
