Charleston International Airport
JetBlue offers direct flights from Boston into Charleston -- in less than 2.5 hours! Many other airlines will have a flight out of Boston, with one or two stops. A layover in DC tends to be the most cost-effective.
Other airport options are the Savannah/Hilton Head airport (2 hour drive), the Myrtle Beach airport (2 hour drive) and the Charlotte Douglas airport (3-3.5 hour drive). Kayak is a good tool to use when researching flights.

We recommend renting a car. Downtown is very walkable and has plenty of inexpensive parking options, but there's so much more to see and do when you visit Charleston. Many of our hotel room blocks are a few minutes outside of downtown too.

Nestled between Shem Creek and coastal salt marshes, this 50-room boutique hotel just 4 miles outside of Charleston offers picturesque views, a pool overlooking Shem Creek, free Wi-Fi, private balconies on all rooms overlooking the Lowcountry marsh or Shem Creek, free parking and free continental breakfast.
We will be heading to one of the bars located along Shem Creek after the wedding with the wedding party, so it is recommended that you book a room here if you want to continue the fun late into the night (bars are open til 1:30AM!) We only have 20 rooms that can be booked for our group, so definitely try to book early to make sure you get a room.

The Residence Inn Mariott is just 1.5 miles from historic downtown, and 10 miles to Magnolia Plantation. There is a complimentary evening shuttle service to the historic district every night from 5:30PM-11:30PM. Charleston is a fanastic city that offers travelers their choice from HUNDREDS of different options! Want to rent a beach house? You can do that. Want to stay downtown and walk to a multitude of bars and restaurants? Yep, you've got a lot of choices there too.
The most economical option is to rent a property in the Lowcountry! Our recommendations would be to stay in Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach or right downtown. Rentals range from 1-10 bedrooms, and will offer many more amenities than your typical hotel. We have used VRBO to book many rentals during our trips to Charleston and have never had a bad experience. Each property will list out what is included during the stay, have reviews from real people, and often times, let you book directly through the website. All you have to do to get started is pick a location and your dates. This is also a great option if you want to extend your trip to Charleston by a few days.
