The Thurston Classic is an annual event for the Meadville area. The sky throughout the whole area will be filled, at different points, with beautiful hot air balloons. If you want to experience one of the several events in person- you have a few options! Head to the website to check out more details regarding the event.
Thursday Night is the Joyce Stevens Memorial Night Glow- that begins at 9pm; and Saturday has a few different sanctioned races scheduled for the day! This whole event is FREE to the public. Flights take place from the Allegheny College Robertson Athletic Complex- address included above. This event is weather pending, and no seating is provided if you choose to go watch the launches at the launch site!
Riverside Brewing Company is a wonderful spot to try some locally brewed beers, cocktails, and some amazing food! This is also the location of Scott and Erin's first date, and one of their favorite go to places!
You can't go wrong with stopping just for a drink, or getting a whole meal!
Eddie's is a great summer go-to, especially if you enjoy a good Smith's Hot Dog! Eddie's was a staple summer lunch or dinner spot for Erin growing up, as it was one of her grandfather, Honey's favorite places to go!
It's a great spot to go for a little piece of Meadville History, and for a quick bite!
Want to explore Meadville some before heading home on Saturday? Highly recommend checking out the Market House on Market Street. It has wonderful locally sourced products available for purchase and it a nice little gem in the heart of Meadville. It is located close to Chestnut Street that has some other adorable shops as well!
Saturday morning, you may also be able to get some amazing homemade soft pretzels, freshly made each Saturday available for purchase in a variety of flavors!
They are only available until they are sold out; so don't mess around and miss out if it ends up being high up on your list of things to do!
One of our favorite things to do when traveling is to find a local coffee shop! You just always find better service and better coffee and treats at a locally owned coffee shop!
French Creek Coffee is a hidden gem for coffee in the Meadville Area!
If you love trying coffee in new places like we do; be sure to check them out!
As tradition goes.... after going to Eddie's for a footlong, Erin and her family would stop at Hank's on the way home!
Hank's is a great frozen custard place, that specializes in a variety of flavors; however, not all flavors are available every day! You can get some prepackaged flavors in pints or quarts, to go; if you would like to try a different flavor!
Erin and Scott enjoy stopping for a scoop when they are in the area during their open season!
Up at The Movies at Meadville, there is also a place to throw axes, if you are looking for something fun and exciting to do!
Want to get food Saturday before heading back home, or get breakfast Friday morning that is not at the hotel? Check out Miller's Food Factory! You will get delicious food! It is a great breakfast spot!
