Off the main road on the beach side there's a little shopping sidewalk with gift shops, bars and restaurants! Follow the brightly painted signs in town!
Unique Jewelers-is towards marina at the end of town on the left side of the street. Its a tiny little shop, but all of the jewelry is made locally!! Its one of my favorite hits when I'm down there. Their jewelry can also be found in the Gift Shop at The Turtle Inn, but there is a wider selection at the shop.
Barefoots Bar & Grille-The best and most popular bar on The Beach!! Stick your toes in the sand and enjoy a Beliken and Conch Fritters!! They're so good!! Great place to sneak off for lunch, or dance to a local DJ by night!!
Tipsy Tuna-Another popular beach bar! The Tuna is just around the corner from Barefoots (And by around the corner, I mean just walk on the beach from Barefoots and there's Tipsy Tuna!! Tuesday night is Karaoke night for the brave!! They, too, have great cocktails and food service!!
J-Dee's-Local bar on the main road in The Village!! Just another excuse to grab a Belikin!! Why would you not???
Rumfish-By far our very favorite restaurant in Belize!! Pam and John were two Californians who decided to do it right and just move to Belize with their kids!! Brilliant!!! Feast on Lion Fish Crudo, Fresh Caribbean Catch, and dessert...Habanero Chocolate Cannolis!!! So delicious!!! Also enjoy sitting on their beautiful open air patio and hopefully you can catch a local soccer game with your meal!! Located on the main road in town and, obviously, across from the soccer field!!
Scuba Divers dream!! The Blue Hole is one of Belize's most popular sights!!
Belize is home to the 2nd largest natural reef in the World, next only to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Boat trips can be arranged to take you out snorkeling or diving. It is absolutely beautiful out there!!
Ancient Mayan Ruins.
"Place of the Fallen Stones". This Late Classic ceremonial center is noted for its unusual style of construction distinctive of southern Belize. The large pyramids and residences are made of dressed stone block with no mortar binding them together. The buildings on top of the pyramids were made from perishable materials rather than masonry and hence do not remain.
Ancient Mayan Ruins
In the Maya Kekchi language, Nim Li Punit means "The Big Hat." The monument on which this carving appears is the longest stela in Belize, originally located in an area called Plaza of the Stelae. These ruins over look the Toledo coastal plain, milpas and rain forest. Having only one main plaza, one pyramid, one ball court and a few moderately sized buildings.

Why just lounge on the beach, when you can visit The Turtle's sister site, Blancaneaux Lodge.
"In the early 1980s, Francis Ford Coppola visited Belize, immediately fell in love with the location, and purchased the abandoned Blancaneaux Lodge. For more than a decade the resort was used as a family retreat before Francis opened his tropical paradise to the public in 1993.
Blancaneaux Lodge is a 20-room luxury resort where waterfalls tumble into turquoise pools above the jungle canopy. Its remote mountain setting allows guests to explore the ancient civilization of the Maya and to return to their own thatched roof dwelling, rich with Guatemalan décor and nestled in the foliage of the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve."
Your Turtle Inn Reservationist will be more than happy to help you resort hop!!!
Contact your reservationist or front desk to ask about fishing excursions! Belize is full of options!! People from all around the world travel to Belize to catch Bone Fish. You can't eat them, but they're apparently a hoot to hook!! If your looking for a more eclectic experience, Reef Fishing is probably more your speed!! Anywhere from Spade Fish to Barracuda and Tarpon!! Most trips are booked either half day or full day. Again, the front desk can help you figure out the right option for your trip!!
By far, my favorite thing to do in Belize! Absolutely, nothing! You can enjoy doing a little bit of nothing over here in a hammock! Then maybe move and do a little more nothing by the pool. All in all, the fabulous, wonderful, relaxing nothing is the best part of Belize. Ahhhhhh....just listen to the waves crash and watch the hummingbirds flutter by as you sip on a cold Belikin. Books can also be brought into the wonderful nothing, you may find it the only chance you find time to read.
