Robert and Erin met like most young, modern-day couples do… online. Their first date, however, wasn’t your typical “let’s grab a coffee” affair. Nope, they met during Hurricane Fiona in September 2022. With neither of them having power, they thought, "What better time to meet a complete stranger in pitch-black darkness, in the beautiful, stormy city of Dartmouth?"

They ended up sitting in the cozy candlelight of Rob’s apartment, completely off the grid, and somehow managed to talk for hours on end. There was no power, no Wi-Fi, just pure connection. By the end of the night, they both knew that what they’d just shared was something special — and possibly even a little magical!

Erin and Rob quickly discovered that they share a very similar sense of humor, which is why their everyday life is filled with laughter and joy. They also have the same way of thinking about pretty much everything, which makes them practically mind readers (and makes life way easier).

They now live happily together in their two-bedroom condo with their three cats, where, of course, one bedroom is completely taken over by Rob’s priceless collection of nerd paraphernalia and childhood toys (Thank you to Robs mom Debbie for saving!). Despite the space being slightly overrun by toys and collectibles, they couldn’t be more excited to spend their lives together and are beyond thrilled to celebrate their love with all their family and friends on their wedding day!
