Erin & Rob

November 21, 2025 • Halifax, NS, Canada
Chris Stone
Chris Stone - Best man
Rob and Chris first met on August 29, 1988. This was a significant day, as it marked the beginning of Rob spending the next 15 years fighting for even a sliver of attention from his dashing, sophisticated, and clearly their parents’ favorite older brother. Unfortunately for Rob, Chris was too busy being cool and uninterested. But then, on a fateful summer day in July 2004, something miraculous happened—Chris was somehow convinced to go see I, Robot. It was in that dark theater, somewhere between Will Smith fighting CGI machines and Rob questioning Chris’s movie choices, that they discovered they had something in common. (That “something” was basically everything… except studying. Chris did that. Rob did not.) From that moment on, their friendship grew. Chris became a dedicated visitor no matter where Rob lived, whether it was across town or across the country. Together, they enjoyed board games, escape rooms, and, most notably, casinos—where Chris took on the vital role of financial recovery specialist, always returning to Rob whatever money he inevitably lost. Their adventures have taken them across the world—Rome, Austria, Costa Rica, Jasper & Banff, and soon, the barren, windswept landscapes of Newfoundland, where they will likely bond over their newfound vision. Despite their many travels, they have never once fought in real life. However, put them in VR Golf or Call of Duty, and they become sworn enemies, locked in a virtual battle where only one brother leaves with their dignity intact. (Hint: It’s usually Chris.)
Katie Pallett
Katie Pallett - Maid of Honour
Katie and Erin's friendship began at StFX University, where they became practically glued together throughout their 4-year nursing degree. They took every single class side by side, because, let's be honest, who else would? They've been attached at the hip ever since, earning the legendary nickname "Karen" (a genius blend of Katie and Erin) — because, at this point, they pretty much share a brain. Katie had a signature move: Every Friday night, she’d tell her parents she was off to the library for some intense studying... when in reality, she was heading straight to Piper’s Pub to conduct some "very important research." If Erin had to give credit to anyone for surviving nursing school, it would be Katie. Erin swears Katie’s brain did most of the heavy lifting. Katie's is now out there being the literal angel she is, serving as the charge nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit at IWK, caring for sick children and their families with all the grace and compassion one could imagine. On top of all that, Erin is endlessly grateful for Katie’s impressive crafting skills, which are coming in handy for wedding decor. Most of all, Erin appreciates Katie’s boundless support and ability to go along with all her plans — even when those plans generate very poor outcomes.
Kerry Macdonald
Kerry Macdonald - Bridesmaid
Kerry MacDonald and Erin first met at STFX during their nursing degree and have been close ever since. As the elder stateswoman of the group (a whole year older than the rest of the crew), Kerry was immediately promoted to the prestigious role of official alcohol supplier at the ripe age of 19. This was wildly out of character for Kerry, who’s better known as the Mom of the group — the one who always knows the right answer, keeps everyone in line, and somehow manages to solve every crisis with grace and maturity. Erin loves how passionately and fiercely Kerry loves and values her friendships. Kerry will always lend a helpful hand, even if that hand happens to belong to her husband, Claude! Fun fact: somewhere between nursing exams and hangovers, Kerry and Erin also discovered they’re actually second cousins — turns out their grandfathers were half-brothers. Because nothing strengthens a friendship like a surprise family tree plot twist!
Robyn Rizzetto
Robyn Rizzetto - Bridesmaids
Robyn and Erin first met during their nursing degree at STFX and have been close ever since. Fun fact — Robyn is also married to Tony, one of Rob’s groomsmen, which makes their double dates both adorable and highly efficient. Robyn and Erin can often be found bonding over gossip sessions about their equally nerdy partners, Rob and Tony, and how cute they are when they get lost in their video games. Back in university, Robyn proudly held the title of the tall friend. After a few drinks, she would regularly remind everyone that no one would dare mess with the friend group — because, in her words, “I’m six-foot-two.” Since most of you are probably planning to ask Robyn if she plays basketball, let’s save her the trouble — the answer is no. Aside from being the group’s gentle giant, Robyn is also incredibly smart and is currently working towards becoming a nurse practitioner. She’s tall, she’s brilliant, and — according to some — she’s just a tad uncoordinated… which is why we absolutely can’t wait to see her bust a move on the dance floor!
Adam Ata
Adam Ata - Groomsmen
Rob and Adam’s friendship began in 2010 at Platinum Fitness, where Rob was convinced Adam hated him. (He didn’t.) Luckily, a mutual friend introduced them, and their first official bro-date involved an adventure to Value Village, where they picked out Halloween costumes and, more importantly, discovered their shared talent for pointless yet deeply profound conversation. Hours of chatting later, the spark of their bromance was officially ignited. Over the years, Adam became more than just a friend—he was a roommate, a landlord, an event planner, and an unpaid, yet highly dedicated, cat-sitter for Rob. Some say he wore these titles with pride. Others say he just tolerated them. In a twist straight out of a rom-com, both Rob and Adam unknowingly moved to Alberta in 2013 at the same time—proving that fate (or questionable life choices) had a plan for them. It was here that their friendship truly flourished, surviving provincial winters, questionable housing situations, and whatever else Alberta threw at them.
Kerry Keyes
Kerry Keyes - Bridesmaid
Kerry and Erin first met during their nursing degree at STFX — proving once again that Erin has a type, and that type is friends named Kerry with a K. The two share a serious love of travel, having embarked on a few epic adventures together, including trips to see legends like Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Post Malone. These days, Kerry is living her best life as an OR nurse in the Valley, proudly claiming her title as a “Valley Girl.” Beneath her scrub cap, you’ll always find her signature top bun — a hairstyle so iconic, it practically deserves its own zip code. Erin absolutely loves Kerry’s sense of humor and her undeniable and borderline irrational hatred for bowling. Seriously, don’t bring it up unless you want to hear a rant. It’s also worth noting that Kerry’s competitive streak runs so deep, it could probably be considered a sport. She’s the undefeated Beer Pong Champion from their STFX days — and she’s more than happy to remind you of it. In fact, her competitive spirit once led her to sprint in front of an excited father during her maternity rotation to announce the gender of a baby to its grandparents, proudly shouting, “IT’S A BOY!” The grandparents, a bit confused, asked, “Who are you?”
Ian Noel
Ian Noel - Groomsmen
Ian is Erin’s only sibling and her older brother. In both looks and personality, they couldn’t be more different — so much so that some people have even questioned if they’re truly related! As the years have passed, Erin and Ian have grown much closer, and Erin now often turns to Ian for advice since he seems to know a little bit about everything. By day, Ian works as an IT technologist — which also means he’s the unofficial tech support for his entire family and friend group (poor Ian!). It’s important to note that Ian made one thing crystal clear — Rob wasn’t getting the privilege of his friendship until there was a ring securely on Erin’s finger. Yet, despite this technicality, they met up several times a month, enjoying Michelin-star-level meals from Rob’s future father-in-law Mike. During these visits, they discussed politics (which, in reality, was more of an educational seminar for Rob), video games, anime, and, most importantly, updates on Reggie—the legendary, mischievous, ceiling-dwelling cat. Though Ian insisted they were not friends, small signs of affection began to emerge—most notably, the Christmas gifts. Each year, Ian gave Rob the perfect present, something so specific, so thoughtful, that only a kindred spirit could have chosen it. It was at that moment Rob knew—Ian could deny it all he wanted, but the friendship had already begun. Now that Rob and Erin are officially engaged, Ian has finally given his blessing for an actual friendship to form. Rob, naturally, is giddy with excitement, thrilled at the prospect of having another brother with so many shared interests—whether Ian likes it or not.
Colin Newman
Colin Newman - Groomsmen
Rob and Colin were first introduced in July 2022, Rob immediately noticed Colin because of his flowing locks and clean shaven face. Rob’s first words to Colin were ‘I didn’t realize I was meeting Orlando Bloom’ - no one laughed. Rob and Colin became board game friends through Chris, they always met up where Colin would confidently lose every game they played, no far lack of effort. In 2023, a trip to Costa Rica was planned where the two got to see what the beautiful island of Costa Rica looks like completely overcast and with a heavy rain. This gave them more time to bond over games and fairly wet bartering with local surf shops over broken boards. During Rob’s marathon training, Colin was the man on the inside. Every ache, pain, or self doubt was texted to Colin and he would swoop in with only wisdom a Doctor could have. This solidified their friendship and now to the group they’re affectionately known as Rob and Colin, because that’s their names.
Casey Coady
Casey Coady - Bridesmaid
Casey and Erin first met at STFX during their degrees — though Casey, bless her heart, was the lone wolf in the group who didn’t take nursing. Despite this, Casey stuck around, proving her heart of gold by patiently enduring endless rants about nursing professors, terrifying health stories, and way too many conversations about bodily fluids. Casey’s dedication to her own studies is nothing short of legendary — after 8 long, grueling years of school, she’s now a well-established, highly successful dentist (and the only one qualified to lecture the group on flossing). Beyond her academic achievements, Casey also held a very important role within the friend group — Keeper of the Digital Camera™ circa 2011. If anything happened during their STFX years, you can bet it was documented by Casey’s trusty camera, only to be immediately uploaded to a Facebook album containing roughly 700 photos from one single night, capturing all their finest (and not-so-fine) moments from every possible angle. Her bio photo is a perfect example of this. In the friend group, Casey is known for her outgoing personality, her infectious, unmistakable laugh, and her bubbly energy that could probably be heard echoing across the Cape Breton causeway — all the way to Sydney, where she now lives with her husband and beautiful children.
Tony Rizzetto
Tony Rizzetto - Groomsmen
Rob met Tony through his soon-to-be wife, Erin, during a trip to Sydney. It was there that Rob encountered the tall, confident, and brutally honest Tony—who, upon discovering Rob was several years older than the group, responded with: “YOU’RE 35?!” Repeatedly. Unrelentingly. For what felt like an eternity. Despite this immediate assault on Rob’s self-esteem, Erin assured him that he and Tony had much in common. And she was right—enter Call of Duty. At first, their gaming sessions were filled with complete and utter silence, a deeply uncomfortable reality for Rob, who thrives on meaningless yet persistent conversation. So, in a bold move, he created the “Tony Topic” list—a scientific experiment where he tested different discussion topics to gauge what, if anything, Tony would respond to. Through trial and error, progress was made. As the months passed, Rob and Tony played every night for 1-3 hours, slowly building a digital bromance. Eventually, Tony took on an even greater role—mediator in the ongoing crumbling of Rob and his brothers’ online friendship, bravely attempting to keep the peace between sniper shots and rage quits. Now, after two years of daily conversations, Rob and Tony talk more than Rob and Erin do—which, while heartwarming, has raised suspicions that Robyn Rizzetto and Erin Stone may actually be enjoying this time apart from them a little too much.
Terryn Macneil
Terryn Macneil - Bridesmaid
Terryn and Erin first met while working as nurses in the trenches of the inpatient units at the hospital — a bonding experience that, unsurprisingly, involved a lot of trauma and a shared understanding of what real stress feels like. Later on, Erin bought a condo and, naturally, couldn’t think of a better person to share 900 square feet with than her friend Terryn. Terryn will always hold a special place in Erin’s heart, especially for the unwavering support she provided during some of the hardest years of Erin’s life while they lived together. In fact, Terryn was the first to hear about "the dating app guy Rob" and was even brave enough to drive Erin to her first date with him — in pitch-black darkness after Hurricane Fiona hit. Talk about being a true friend! Known for her sassy red hair and razor-sharp sarcastic humor, Terryn is the only person on earth who can tolerate Erin’s questionable cleaning habits and still provide the best advice when Erin needs it most. Erin takes great pride in the fact that she’s one of the very few people to make it onto Terryn’s exclusive Instagram account — a feat that’s more difficult than getting into the VIP section of a concert. Erin and Terryn also took a trip to Peru, where they collectively almost died during their Lares trek hike in the Andes at 15,000 feet, and Terryn was right there to support Erin as she spiraled into full-on paranoia about the jungle — convinced that one of the creepy crawlies was going to end their lives any second. Spoiler: they survived. but Erin is confident her GI tract will never be the same.
Taylor Jordan
Taylor Jordan - Bridesmaid
Taylor and Erin first met during their nursing degree at STFX, though Erin initially thought Taylor was a total "know-it-all" — always answering the professor's questions and being way too smart for her own good. Erin’s inner monologue was probably something like, "Okay, we get it, Taylor, you’re the smartest person in the room." Fast forward to after graduation, and Taylor and Erin started working on the same inpatient hospital unit, which is where their friendship really began to blossom. Now, Taylor is in her third year of residency to become an orthopedic surgeon — confirming that Erin was right all along about her being way too smart for her own good. Erin loves that Taylor is always up for an adventure and is one of the kindest, most generous people she knows. In fact, Taylor was so generous that she let Erin — and her cat Hank — live with her for half a year, basically rent-free. On Erin's first day as her new roommate, she showed up COVID-positive, forcing Taylor to find somewhere else to stay for a bit. But, in true Taylor fashion, she didn’t make Erin feel bad about it at all! Instead, she just handled it like a champ and kept on being an amazing friend. Oh, and let’s not forget the time Erin broke her thumb doing the limbo at her Christmas party (don’t ask) — and Taylor, without hesitation, offered to get an x-ray done on Erin’s hand, no questions, no judgment. Just another example of Taylor being a true friend who knows how to handle a situation, even when it involves ridiculous injury-induced shenanigans
Courtney Morash
Courtney Morash - Bridesmaid
Courtney is one of Erin's longest-standing childhood friends — they met when they were just 12 years old in junior high, and they've been stuck with each other ever since. Through all the ups, downs, and questionable decisions life threw their way, they've always had each other's backs and made time for their friendship, no matter how wild life got. Back in junior high and high school, Erin practically lived at Courtney's house, where they spent nearly every weekend getting into all kinds of trouble (probably the kind that would make their parents raise an eyebrow now). Over the years, they’ve shared countless adventures: hiking, boating, camping, shopping for matching outfits (because, you know, that was a thing at one point), and spending summers at Erin’s grandmother's house in Liscomb. Courtney is known for her kind heart, her unwavering dedication to friendships, and being an incredible mom with an equally impressive work ethic as a business owner. But above all, Courtney will forever be the friend who can turn any moment into something memorable. No matter where they are or what they’re doing — even if it’s just sitting on the couch at home, watching TV — they’ll always find something to talk and laugh about. Even though Erin and Courtney have been on different timelines their whole lives, and various boys have come and gone (some more memorable than others), there’s one thing that’s perfectly in sync — they’re both getting married to the loves of their lives, just two months apart
