Wedding Party

Josh deLacy
Josh deLacy - Officiant
Josh is one of Will's closest friends, and, after five years of living together in the state of Washington, probably also Will's best preparations for marriage in ways that will continue to be measured as the years go on. For that reason, Eva and Will thought he would be the perfect person to marry them. Facts about Josh: he knows how to replace a house's rotting baseboard; he has designed two books, cover to cover, from scratch; Will calls him "J-Dawg" for some reason, but you're not allowed to call him that.
Claire Roos
Claire Roos - Maid of Honor
Claire is Eva's sister (identical twin sister, if you want to get really specific). It seems impossible to define the dynamic, creative, deeply-loving, and spit-fire energy that is Claire. But here's a few snapshots: She's infuses color to every element of life and dreams of a backyard lush with native plants and outdoor guinea pig hotels. She is the funniest person Eva knows, even if Claire denies it. When Claire and Eva are in a group, Eva happily takes the backseat and basks in Claire's enigmatic spirit. There's nothing Eva wouldn't do for her.
Spencer Montei
Spencer Montei - Best Man
Spencer is Will's older brother, which meant that for many years Will looked up to Spencer as the Ideal Man. Today, Spencer is married to Lindsay, my first favorite sister-in-law, and the loving father of four children. He still listens to pop-punk music, cries at commercials, obsesses over the occasional musical, and often texts Will his favorite finds from X, the fake name for Twitter. Will loves to laugh with Spencer, but he also loves Spencer's sincerity and generosity, which are always remarkable, occurring at moments when they are unexpectedly needed.
Emma Shipley
Emma Shipley - Bridesmaid
Emma is Eva's sister-in-law, married to Eva's brother, Ben. In every sense, Emma is a natural creative. As a ridiculously talented graphic designer, it actually doesn't compute all that Emma accomplishes given a 24-hour day. And yet she has anything but workaholic energy (except when board games bring out her secret competitiveness). She is grounded, quick to laugh, and profoundly loving and empathetic. Eva and Emma's favorite tradition is getting tattooed together. While the question hasn't yet been posed to tattoo 'BRIDESMAID' for the big day, there's still time.
Ben Roos
Ben Roos - Groomsman
Ben is the cool older brother of Eva, and even though he's the same age as Will, now feels like another cool older brother to Will. Like the rest of the Roos clan, he is remarkably kind and thoughtful. He's also a huge nerd for tabletop gaming and goes to conventions and stuff. Will doesn't believe he will ever win a game against Ben.
Steve Ziegler
Steve Ziegler - Groomsman
Steve is Will's brother-in-law. In addition to being a huge nerd for sci-fi films and painfully difficult video games, he is an avid fly fisher and a loving father. He expresses his love to Will by saying things like "get out of my house." He's a warm bear of a man who helps Will to be less pretentious by doing things like encouraging Will to drink cheap beer.
Joanna deLacy
Joanna deLacy - Groomsman
Will and Joanna met via one of their favorite people, Josh, with whom Joanna is married. Will calls her Jo Bags. Joanna does not call Will Stumpy, but it remains his nickname. Whenever they hang out, tramping around in the woods or doing kitchen yoga, it's always another Stumpy and Jo Bags mess-around. Being in Jo's presence will make you feel more embodied and very much okay with who you are.
Katie Ziegler
Katie Ziegler - Bridesmaid
Katie is Eva's future sister-in-law, older sister of Will. When they met, Eva felt immediate kindred-ness to dear Katie. Katie's warmth and curiosity for life softens even the hardest of adult hearts. She loves books and literature and her passion is contagious. She is an uncommonly patient and adoring mom to three of the sweetest souls. Katie introduced Eva to Marvel movies, which Eva knew as well as she does college sports (not at all). Though the Marvel world hasn't quite imprinted on Eva, being witness to Katie's enthusiasm makes Eva want to watch them all.
