Our story begins in the summer of 2020 when both Madeline and Evan moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—Evan to start medical school, and Madeline to begin a new job. Little did we know, and as fate would have it, we ended up moving into apartments just a mile apart from each other.

Five months later, we met on a dating app called Hinge. Over the next several months, we grew closer, taking walks along a path that connected our apartment buildings and embarking on a quest to find the best bagel sandwich in the city. Through these simple yet meaningful adventures, sharing laughs and creating memories, we became truly inseparable.

The following summer, Madeline was moved to Pittsburgh for work—a four-hour drive west of Philadelphia. We continued a long distance relationship taking turns visiting each other over the course of a year. But once again, as fate would have it, Evan was selected to move to Pittsburgh for his third and fourth years of medical school. So, our story continued in Pittsburgh, where we found ourselves in a new chapter living together.

In May 2024, we returned to Philadelphia to celebrate Evan's graduation from medical school. Two days after the ceremony, Evan surprised Madeline with a proposal at the very place where our story began—the path we once walked together as we got to know each other four years ago. That evening, we celebrated our engagement with both of our families, who were there to share in the joy (thanks to Evan’s surprise coordination!).

Now, we’re excited to continue our story and celebrate our love with all of you on October 11, 2025!
