What should I wear to the wedding?
The dress code for our ceremony and reception is black tie preferred. We kindly request gentlemen wear a tuxedo or dark suit and ladies wear a full-length or tea-length gown.
When deciding which shoes to wear, please note there is a short walk from our ceremony to the reception. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
What should I wear to the welcome party?
We're so excited to have everyone in Charleston and kick off the weekend at the welcome party! The official attire for the welcome party is Elevated Casual (think going to brunch with friends-- a sundress or nice top for ladies and a collared shirt for gents). We understand some guests may be coming right from the airport, so please come as you are!
Can I bring a guest?
To ensure we can accommodate everyone comfortably, we ask that only those on your invitation attend. All invitees will be listed on the envelope. You may bring a guest only if your invitation includes “& Guest” next to your name. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
When should I get to the ceremony?
The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm, we recommend guests arrive at 5:00pm to be seated.
Do I need to rent a car?
If you are planning to stay at the Mills House or another location downtown, you should be able to walk or take a short Uber ride to all of our wedding-weekend destinations.
If you plan to stay at one of the beach resorts in the area or another location outside of the downtown peninsula, we recommend renting a car.
Where should I park?
If you are not staying at the Mills House, the best parking option for the day is the King & Queen Streets Garage, located at 85 Queen St.
Another good option closer to the church but a bit further from the hotel is the Cumberland Garage, at 82 Cumberland St.
