Things to Do

Portugal is full of great activities and we expect that some of you may combine our wedding weekend with some additional vacation either before or after it.

For this we wish to give some quick recommendations for those who wish:

Old town Lagos

Just walking around Lagos can be a treat with lots of restaurants, bars and beaches. The city has a long history which can be of interest for the history nerds.

Ponta da Piedade

Known for its stunning cliffs and sea arches, this natural landmark offers walking trails along the coastline. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views or take a boat tour to explore the grottos and hidden caves up close.

Grotto trips

You can take a boat trip along the cliffs and into the grottos by Ponto da Piedade. We recommend to look at www.lagosgrottotrips.com. You can send a WhatsApp message to Connie who can help with booking and any other types of recommendations (+351 962 663 255). Refer to "Roos wedding" and she will give you a good price.

Kayaking

In Lagos you can go kayaking along the enormous Algarve cliffs. Just walk along the harbor on the city side and there will be lots of alternative firms to explore.

Meia Praia

It’s one of the largest beaches in the region with smaller restaurants available along it

Hiking

There is a beautiful short hike/walk from Lagos to Luz (10.5 km, around 2.5 hours one-way) where you walk along the cliffs looking out over the ocean. The groom-to-be has done it so it evidently does not require a high fitness level. You can either walk back and forth, or you can ask 1-2 of the lazier people in your friend group to drive to Luz and explore the city while they wait for you to drive you all back (15-20 min drive). Or vice versa, they drive you to Luz and you walk back to Lagos (Praia da Luz to Lagos - a beautiful coastal walk - The Algarve Family)

Sagres

Sagres is a 30-minute drive from Lagos, which is the most western point of mainland Europe. Enjoy breathtaking views of the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean.

Vineyards

Portugal has a lot of great wine and there are lots of vineyards in the area. If you have a free day and wish to go visit one we recommend Monte da Casteleja and Adego do Convento do Paraiso.

Lisbon

Lisbon is a beautiful city that we ourselves have not visited but we hear from everyone that it is one of their favourite cities.

Golf

Golf is very popular in Portgual (if you don't believe it, ask Gustav Flink for his golf experience in Lagos). A quick google search will give you lots of alternatives. We can recommend Palmares Ocean Living & Golf and Boavista Golf & Spa.
