Our Wedding

Brandon & Felicia’s love story takes place over 4 states, 2 years, and more miles than they would like to count. They met thanks to their mutual best friend, Caitlyn (If you don’t know Caitlyn yet, you will by the end of our wedding trip). Caitlyn spent time getting to know Felicia while at Central College and as a fellow teammate on the soccer team. Caitlyn met Brandon while working as a graduate assistant at St. Cloud State University.   While Felicia was visiting Caitlyn in St. Cloud she introduced her to Brandon briefly, but timing wasn't quite right for the two. Later on that year while out for drinks, Caitlyn invited Brandon on a group trip to Zion National Park that was planned for that upcoming summer along with Felicia & Caitlyn’s girlfriend, Chloe. Brandon happily accepted & used it as an excuse to message Felicia & get to know her better since they were about to spend 10 days together on a cross country trip. The two immediately felt the chemistry & texting soon led to FaceTimes until they finally met in Iowa for their first date. There was no looking back after that, and with the success of the road trip they started dating, even though they lived 1100 miles apart.   Throughout the next year there were many FaceTime dates, flights, & car rides to see each other until Brandon moved from the wasteland of North Dakota, to the beautiful southwest with Felicia (where it’s never below freezing. EVER.). Brandon proposed soon after at Los Poblanos, a place very special to them. The two have built a beautiful life together so far & look forward to their future by each other’s side.

No Shudak gathering is ever complete without an appearance from Taylor & the bride. When it’s just one of them, they are quick to call the other and spill the tea.

Where do I start? Once you have your room booked, plan to book your flights beginning in January 2023. After you have your flights booked, let Marly know so she can set up your transfers (or book your own transfers if that is your preference). Lastly, plan to have some fun!!

What are the room options? We have contracted a special group rate for the resort. Booking within the group provides additional amenities for the wedding while onsite. Airfare is not included, and we recommend you book this on your own. Flights will be out end of January 2023, and you will want to fly into the Cancun airport. When you have your flights booked, contact Marly for transfers from the airport to the hotel. The room deposit is $200 per room and this must be paid in order&nbsp;to secure your room. (Final payment is due 60 days before travel) Most of the rooms reserved are king rooms that allow double occupancy. We do have a limited number of rooms with 2 double beds that allow up to 4 people, and for families of 5 or 6 we have a couple 2 bedroom Deluxe Grand Sky Terrace rooms available. The group rate will be honored 12/26/23 to 1/2/24 as long as there is availability. Feel free to come for all or some of our trip! Can I stay for more or fewer days than the wedding couple? YES! Feel free to come whenever you are available. The ceremony will be on December 29th, 2023 but you are welcome to come whenever you are able and stay as long as you would like.

I am interested in an activity/excursion. How do I book that? When the full wedding itinerary is finalized, we will extend an invitation to everyone to participate in the excursions we have planned. If those do not interest you, you are welcome to organize your own through Marly or the hotel directly. Excursions should be booked roughly 3-6 months ahead of time to ensure availability. Due to an increase in travel during the holiday season, some excursions may fill up sooner than others.

What is the cancellation policy? 91+ days prior to departure: No penalty. Any money paid will be refunded 90 - 61 days prior to departure: Deposit is non-refundable. 60 - 31 days prior to departure: 50% of total room will be assessed. 30 - 0 days prior to departure: Any reductions/cancellations or no shows will be 100%non-refundable.
