Our Wedding

Gabe and I met at a college party on May 24th, 2014 at 1AM. We spent the entire night talking and discovered immediately that this was a relationship we wanted to pursue. We felt we had an instant connection which made us coin the term insta-connect later on in our relationship. We went on a few dates in the days that followed but Gabe graduated from college shortly after we met and drove back to his family home in Colorado. Meanwhile I was on my way to a summer job on an Island off the coast of New Hampshire called Star Island. Even though we were very far apart and had only known each other a couple of weeks we knew this was something special and we never lost touch over the two months we were apart. We decided in July 2014 that I would come out to visit him in Colorado for the week in between ending my summer job and starting at a new College in Superior, Wisconsin. During that week we decided that neither of us wanted to be apart from each other and because I'm a hopeless romantic I decided to forgo college and stay with Gabe in Colorado. We do want to state that while this incredibly stupid and overly romanticized course worked for us we do not recommend it, as it takes a lot of will power, compromise and a stubborn attitude to make it work no matter the obstacles. A month after we decided to live together in Colorado I discovered I was pregnant with our first child. While we were both terrified we decided that we would make it work, like I said we were stubborn. In January, 2015 we moved back to Minnesota and lived with my parents for a short time. In the beginning of May, 2015 we moved into our house. And on May 23rd, 2015 at approximately 9:32PM our son was born. Orion Edwarde James Elzi came almost exactly a year after we first met. And about two and a half years later on November 29th, 2017 at approximately 2:39PM we welcomed our daughter Odessa Cordelia Siena Elzi into this world. Somewhere in between the two kids we got engaged very casually in the way that any two people who already have a child together get engaged. "We should probably get married soon." "Agreed." So that's basically our story, it's not very traditional in any sense but it’s ours. And we wouldn’t change a single thing.

Ian and I&nbsp;met sometime back around 2012 working at the Keystone Science School, a summer camp in Colorado.&nbsp; Hiking mountains and corralling&nbsp;&nbsp; kids kept us busy in the summers, and he's been a great friend to have ever since.&nbsp; He was one of my first friends to meet Esmé, and I think it's fitting he best man for this wedding.&nbsp; Oh yeah he's also the godfather for Orion.&nbsp; just the minor details.&nbsp;

The much younger and prettier sister of the bride. The beloved aunt of Orion and Odessa. She's a cupcake making,&nbsp;rock climbing enthusiast and she hasn't been jobless since she turned 14, sometimes holding down 3 jobs at the same time while&nbsp;going to school. A true force of nature&nbsp;you won't catch her taking a breather at this wedding, in between making speeches she's sure to be chasing her niece and nephew around.

Cordelia Etter

The bride's friend since 1997. The godmother of Orion. This gorgeous, confident, dark haired beauty is also&nbsp;an incredible artist. She has designed 3 of the bride's 7 tattoos as well as painted a treasured mural of Calvin and Hobbes (the groom's favorites)&nbsp;for her godson Orion.

Cayenne Kjerland

David is one of my oldest friends, going all the way back to my sophomore year&nbsp;of high school&nbsp;(just his wee little baby 8th grade year)!&nbsp; &nbsp;Kinda crazy looking at that as over a decade away.&nbsp; Both of us lived as teachers' kids at a boarding school, which gave us plenty in common and plenty of time to explore an&nbsp;old, semi-haunted boarding school campus.&nbsp;&nbsp;

I understand his name has some deep linguistic roots, and I'll probably mangle it, but if I&nbsp;recall correctly his name pronounced&nbsp;"Daveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed"

David Lankfor-Bravo

The bride's friend since 2000. The godmother of Odessa. Boasts a beautiful singing voice that&nbsp;matches her beautiful face. Don't be surprised if you catch this bridesmaid singing with the bride about things they're&nbsp;currently doing.&nbsp;

Johanna Drentlaw

Sterling is a grand old friend of mine from high school that makes me feel a little insignificant in the adventures I've done in my life.&nbsp; Like come on look at his picture!&nbsp; I&nbsp;just grabbed the quickest appropriate photo off my friends' facebook profiles.&nbsp; And this is his!&nbsp; He's on a friggin mountain.&nbsp; This guy kills me sometimes!&nbsp; I have two kids!&nbsp; I have two dogs!&nbsp; My fiancé&nbsp;is beautiful and I've accomplished plenty.&nbsp; enough about sterling.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Also he moved to Colorado like right before I&nbsp;left back in 2014, which was definitely a bummer

Sterling Boin

Carl is going to be a doctor.&nbsp; And he's going to be a damn good one at that.&nbsp; He's &nbsp;a steadfast friend&nbsp;that makes me laugh more than he'd probably like, and&nbsp;has the biggest heart known to man.&nbsp; Friends since high school, he's&nbsp;always been there for me, whether it was helping out in group projects or making sure I could chill at his house to watch the finale of Lost.&nbsp; Still one of the best shows of all time.&nbsp; Period.&nbsp; Ever.&nbsp; fight me irl.

Carl Ceraolo

The bride's friend since 2004. This gorgeous and talented young woman first met the bride when they were both cast in a play together at just 10 years-old. They later became neighbors who spent their days dressing up and preparing for future shows at their local community theater.You're sure to catch this bridesmaid making silly faces at the bride and cuddling with the bride and grooms daughter Odessa.&nbsp;

Alison Haider

Fedro was my neighbor freshman year at St Olaf College, and he's been stuck with me since!&nbsp; He's a loud bombastic guy that will always let me know if I'm being too weird (usually by cheering me on, unfortunately).&nbsp; I was spoiled to be his roommate our senior year and he was my first friend I&nbsp;spoke to about Esmé.

Fedro De Tomassi

A friend of the bride's since 2004. This lovely and intelligent woman first met the bride when they were cast in a show together as children. They later became neighbors who sang "Wicked" together and kayaked the summer days away. You're sure to find this bridesmaid singing show-tunes and dancing with the bride.

Deon Haider

I met Reid near the first week my sophomore (his freshman) year at St Olaf, and we've been crossing paths ever since.&nbsp; He's an avid farmer and likes sunset walks along his pig stalls.&nbsp; He's seen me through my fair share of struggles and I'm glad I&nbsp;have someone like him I&nbsp;can call a friend.&nbsp; Don't let his gruff exterior fool you, below all that is a an even gruffer, grumpier farmer. He's also the godfather of Odessa, and is excited to one day teach her how to hunt, skin a deer and pig farm.&nbsp;

Reid Nordstrom

The bride's friend since 2006.&nbsp;This emerald-eyed goddess spent most of her high school&nbsp;weekends sleeping over at the brides house watching "The Simpsons" until the early morning and&nbsp;is one of the funniest people you will ever meet.&nbsp;She's sure to make each and every guest smile and giggle with her quick-witted ways.&nbsp;

Rayna Mckinley

Chaser is a wonderful viking of a man.&nbsp; He's been in my life almost as long as Reid has (Nordstroms are hard to shake).&nbsp; Chase calls life as it is and is always good for a somber dose of reality.&nbsp; Resident beardmaster and brew demon.

Friend of the bride since 2010. This outgoing beauty met the bride in the first week of 11th grade at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists and quickly took the bride (a total newbie to the school) under her wing. You are sure to find this fierce&nbsp;bridesmaid giving pep talks to the bride and making sure everything is how the bride wants it.&nbsp;
