On December 23, 2022, Gabriel had told Alex he had planned an all day, all-inclusive date. Little known to Alex, Gabe had written a handful of letters pertaining to important milestones of their life together so far. They had started the day with breakfast at their local base diner where they had originally met, Alex had walked by the air hockey table and saw an envelope sticking out and Gabriel said "what is that?" so Alex grabbed it and it had the words "to Alex" written on it. When she read it, it was one reason why Gabriel loved her. Now Gabe does little romantic things all the time so Alex just thought it was one of those times.

The next step on their journey was the place where Gabe had first given Alex her first flower from him, a cherry blossom. Alex and Gabriel met during cherry blossom season in Japan. She found another letter in the tree and it read a reason why he loved her. This went on throughout the day, re-living their special moments and places throughout their relationship. Now in true Alex fashion she had grown weary of the heels she was wearing but Gabe had one more stop on their list, Tokyo Tower. Tokyo Tower is a place that overlooks the entirety of downtown Tokyo, with its stunning lights and beauty!

Unbeknownst to Alex, this would be the place that would live in infamy. This was the beginning of the rest of their lives together. There was one more letter Gabe had written for the night...this was it, this was finally the moment he was going to propose. Gabriel got down on one knee and asked Alex if she would marry him. With all the people around them and Gabriel's heart racing a thousand miles per hour, she said YES!
