Our wedding venue is located in the historical neighborhood called Santa Teresa. The Mansão Alvite is a colonial mansion integrated into nature, with panoramic views of Sugarloaf Mountain, located in one of the most charming neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro. For foreigners, private shuttles will be reserved to take you to and bring you from the party! Things to do

For those who come, we will be planning group activities for a full week leading to the wedding! Rio is a big city, which offers a variety of attractions for all interests and budgets. In the South Zone of Rio—areas like Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana—where most tourists stay, getting around on foot is quite convenient. You'll find supermarkets, pharmacies, bars, and restaurants easily accessible. Locals, known as 'cariocas,' also enjoy strolling along the beaches. We recommend using the Uber app as they are generally inexpensive in Rio. Note that taxis may not always accept card payments and it’s best to avoid walking on the streets after dark.

August is usually a great season to go to the beach, being usually less rainy than usual and with temperatures varying from 20-25 °C. The closest beach to us is the Ipanema beach, but there are many others such as: Leblon, Barra, Prainha and Joatinga. Attention: Be careful with your belongings, have someone look at them when you go inside the ocean.

Take the tram or van through the tijuca forest to our most famous city sight.

Take a cable car ride to the top of the mountain to witness some of the most spectacular views of Rio.

The Rio de Janeiro botanical garden is home to a variety if plant species. Its a great and calm place to visit. After that you can head up to Parque Lage to eat brunch in an amazing historical building.

Getting around

In the South Zone of Rio—areas like Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana—where most tourists stay, getting around on foot is quite convenient. You'll find supermarkets, pharmacies, bars, and restaurants easily accessible. Locals, known as 'cariocas,' also enjoy strolling along the beaches. However, some parts of Rio can be risky for pedestrians. To avoid pickpocketing, keep your phone and wallet secure, and avoid keeping valuables in your back pocket. It's best to stick to tourist areas for safety. For more detailed safety information, check your home country's travel advisories. For major attractions, the metro is a good option and easy to use—no need for a Metro card, just use contactless payment directly at the gate. Uber is also relatively affordable and can be more convenient. We recommend avoiding buses due to their complex routes and potential safety issues. At night, opt for Uber or a taxi, as they are generally inexpensive in Rio—around 30 BRL for a 20-minute ride. Note that taxis may not always accept card payments. It’s best to avoid walking on side streets after dark.

For the party, we chose a formal dress code. As the party starts during sunset, we recommend lighter fabrics :) Don't worry about uncomfortable shoes - as per Brazilian tradition, women will receive a pair of havaianas to wear during the party. Brazilian tradition is that white is for the bride. Therefore, we ask that you do not use shades of white If anyone would like to get ready in a salon, please talk to Gabi- salons are usually not open on sundays but we will be able to arrange for it if a group wants!
