Things to Do
There are plenty of things to do, places to explore, and great food to try in Des Moines! We have listed a few of our favorites around the metro below.

Des Moines' Downtown Farmers’ Market
Gabby's favorite thing in Des Moines! Runs on Saturdays from 6 am to noon. Our favorites include Chef Steve's Kabobs (the best crab rangoons), the papusa stand at the end of 3rd street (worth the line), Northern Vessel Coffee, Queen's Pretzels, and Dumpling House. You can't go wrong with any of the vendors though!
Historic East Village
Some of our favorite shops and restaurants are just across the river from the hotel! We enjoy Storyhouse Bookpub, '85 Bar, Locust Tap, Scenic Route Bakery, Up/Down, Raygun, Porchlight, Vibrant Coffee House, and so many more. The entire neighborhood is very walkable. Check it out for yourself!

Located just outside of downtown, the Art Center is free to enjoy!

Located across the interstate from downtown and well worth the trip to see all the beautiful gardens!
