Our story began as all epic love stories do... in medical school.

Amid the hardship of exams, late-night study sessions, and the occasional tears, our friendship took root. One of the unexpected silver linings of the pandemic was the blossoming of our relationship. Our love kindled while we were completing our clinical rotations at the UF Jacksonville hospital. Between the grueling hours at the hospital, we found little pockets of time to go on dates such as late-night ice cream, farmers markets, and breweries.

As we got to know each other, we discovered that while we were both imperfect, we were perfect for each other. Our doggo, Bryan, wholeheartedly agreed, reveling in the newfound attention.

After graduating, we moved to Dallas, Texas for residency. Here, we built a cozy, laughter-filled life with countless late-night working hours amidst show-binging marathons and lazy Sundays at the dog park. It was in this happy routine that Gerti decided to pop the question. On 05.04.2023, with a clumsy, heartfelt proposal, Gerti asked Taylor to be his forever person. Taylor said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.
