The Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is nestled just minutes from downtown on the shore of White Rock Lake, it features 66 acres with 11 lush display gardens that offer seasonal color all year long. Home of Dallas Blooms Spring, the Southwest’s largest outdoor floral festival during April and May. This tranquil oasis offers visitors an escape from the city with places for quiet contemplation.
The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a museum for the whole family, where science can be explored by children as well as adults. The Victory Park campus features hands-on exhibits in geology, physics, astronomy, biology, and earth sciences. A great experience for both adults and kids.
The park is constructed above a section of below-grade Woodall Rodgers Freeway, for three blocks between Pearl Street and St. Paul Street. It connects the Dallas Arts District to other areas while also serving as an active gathering space in Downtown Dallas that can be enjoyed by residents or visitors alike!
The Katy Trail is one of the most popular and intensely-supported trails in the Dallas area. Built in what was a former Misssouri, Kansas, and Texas ("Katy") Railroad corridor that was provided by Union Pacific, the 3.5-mile trail always has runners, walkers, baby stroller-pushers, cyclists, and roller-bladers.
One of our favorite spots in Dallas is the Katy Trail Ice House nestled on the famous Katy Trail. Take a stroll or jog through the trail and stop by the Ice House for a cold beer and great food.

Opened to the public in 1992, the Dallas World Aquarium has been in the Downtown Dallas area for nearly 30 years. Along with providing animal and plant lovers an opportunity to see wildlife up close, the aquarium offers field trips and educational sessions for children and adults.
