On October 6, 2018 Derek and Gianna both went to a mutual friends’ 21st birthday bar crawl in South Philadelphia. 
They both said to their friends before the night began they thought each other were cute and wanted to talk. 
By the 3rd bar Gianna couldn’t wait for Derek any longer so as Derek was buying a drink for himself, Gianna approached him while he was at the bar and said “where’s mine?”
