Hi everyone, I’m Sarah, and I’ve been happy to call Gillian my best friend for the past six years. We became inseparable during the third year of our Psych degree at Grenfell. We bonded instantly and shared a passion for sushi and ice cream, had endless late-night study sessions on campus, and basement sleepovers watching the bachelor (sorry Rick and Jane for all the times us laughing woke you up). We’ve shared so many unforgettable memories over the years and I can’t wait to continue making memories with her and Dan. Anyone who knows Gillian knows that Daniel is the perfect match for her. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you both as you start this new chapter. Here's to love, laughter, and a lifetime of happiness together!

Born cousins, best of friends by choice. Gillian and I are 1st cousins on my fathers side. We have always been close. We grew up playing dress up, wearing matching outfits to church and skiing. As we have gotten older that bond we established as young girls has only become stronger, especially when I moved to Corner Brook to complete my first year of University where we rekindled that childhood bond with movie nights and family suppers. Now my cousin is getting married and I cannot wait for us to spend more quality time together in the future- now with Dan along for the ride!

I had the pleasure of working with Gillian at camp 6 years ago, and we very quickly became friends. After camp connected us, this friendship only grew more and more when I moved out to Corner Brook for university. Some of my favourite moments we shared include study dates, drives, and watching hockey games (even though I had to explain the rules to Gillian multiple times). But even more than all that, I quickly became a part of the Ash family where we shared countless Sunday lunches and weekend sleepovers. Though distance may have separated us the past few years, our friendship has continued with regular check ins, life updates, and of course Gillian sending a random video or tik tok. Gillian, I’m so happy to stand by your side as you marry your best friend and I can’t wait to see what adventures await for both you and Dan and I look forward to hearing all about it.

Me and Gillian met 8 years ago when both of us arrived (way too early) to Corner Brook Regional High School. We would spend our time in the morning by grabbing juice boxes from the breakfast program and talking about what was going on in our lives. Fast forward through high school and we ended up in the same Psych program at Grenfell. The friendship continued to grow as we matured, bonding over statistics labs, and psychology classes. I’ve had the pleasure over the years to watch Gillian grow into the amazing woman she is today. I simply could not be more excited to stand by her side while she marries the man of her dreams.

I took a brief stint during Covid off of my studies of Architecture, where I found myself at the Agriplex Vaccine Centre. Expecting this to be a job that served to fill time and not much more, I had a very poor view on what was prospected to take the majority of my day for an extended period of time. This was until I met the radiant light of a person that is Dan. Dan almost immediately introduced himself, with a big grin, ear to ear. I’ve always been a fairly reserved person, with a tough shell to crack before opening up socially. Meeting Dan was a pivotal moment with my growth as a person and I can’t thank him enough for being such a warmth in a time of uncertainty for me. On a regular basis, I was finding times of joy and companionship in what I originally thought to be a down period in my life. Dan brought us together and changed me for the better. Since then, Dan and I have bonded over our mutual interests of archery, woodworking, building science and many other oddities. Although I’m sad Dan will be living his life on the East Coast, I’m incredibly excited knowing this will be an amazing chapter in his life, with wonderful people alongside him.

I went to work at the London Vaccine Centre while I was completing my masters in psychotherapy - it was there that I met Dan. Dan was instructed to show me around and introduce me to the team- little did we know that this was the beginning of a friendship already. We spent nearly everyday together at work and still had the space for each other after where we would congregate at each other's place when restrictions were tight and bar-hopped downtown when the restrictions opened up. As the years went on we supported each other through our schooling and placements with their numerous challenges. Between bonfires, beers and Harry Potter marathons our friendship grew and I couldn't be more proud today to stand by Dan's side at his wedding.

I'm one of Daniel's older brothers, so I've been around his whole life, and, despite some my efforts, he's remained (mostly) unharmed during all those times in our childhood that we were trying out every outdoor game and challenge we could think of, without any thought of whether anyone could get hurt. We've always had many similar interests, and as we got older we spent time working on vehicles and talking about all the awesome cars we'd like to have. Daniel would also catch me up with the latest hobby he had gotten into, whether it was archery, biking, or woodworking. Since we've graduated and no longer lived together we haven't spent the same time together, but we've always had time to catch up on life and give each other a hand whenever needed. I'm so proud of the person Daniel has become and I'm so excited that he's entering into this new stage of life, even if it means that it's taking him all the way the Newfoundland.

I’m the proud oldest sibling of Daniel Hiemstra. Being four years apart, we’ve always had a special connection. One of my earliest and fondest memories is of a little boy who used to sneak into my room at night and climb into bed with me, seeking comfort and companionship. Daniel has always had a knack for creativity and unique projects, like the time he welded a bike on top of another bike and configured the gears and chains to make a double-decker bike. His inventive spirit and boundless imagination have always amazed me. Today, I’m overjoyed to stand by his side as he embarks on this new journey of love and happiness.
