Our Wedding

We met at Buena High School, Sierra Vista, AZ. Though in different class years we kept up an easy friendship and correspondence over the years that eventually led to a relationship. Being great friends for three years only contributed to a strong relationship spent hundreds to thousands of miles apart at times. Our dates landed us in Seattle, Tucson, San Diego, and more as our love deepened and matured. We were lucky to be able to live together in San Diego with the gracious support of our parents until Anton commissioned in the US Army Infantry and we moved together to start our life in Georgia. Now on the cusp of moving to Hawaii together for his first assignment, we have had time to enjoy many experiences and hobbies together, of which the list is practically endless! We share a deep love of National Parks and outdoor pursuits, a mutual appreciation of animals which has led us to many aquariums and zoos across the country, a love of beaches and seafood (of which there are/is plenty to enjoy in Hawaii) yet none of this stops us from staying in and enjoying cooking a meal and debating which movie to watch. We share our home with our Rabbit Winnie and our Cat Mouse who are arguably more excited than us to don floral shirts and get their toes in the sand. We are so excited to close out this chapter of our life with a beautiful wedding celebration surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones in time for us to depart the continental US.

Our Story

Our reception will be held at the Columbus Marriott at 800 Front Avenue, Columbus GA 31901. Cocktail hour will begin at 5:00pm and include a card (no cash) bar and light bites. Our bar will include a variety of liquor, wine, beer, and a small selection of soft drinks. Following cocktail hour we will have a dinner buffet with a delicious selection of prime rib, sautéed chicken, and a variety of mouth watering sides. We will have music, cake, and good company. We can't wait to dance the night away with our friends and family.

Our venue does not allow any outside food or beverages, including alcohol. If you are looking for something other than what we are offering, food and drink from the hotel restaurant, Houlihan's, is permitted in the venue.

If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know so we can make proper accommodations!

Reception 

Dress code: Semi-formal Please join us in attire that reflects the beauty and respectfulness of the occasion. As our ceremony will take place in a Catholic Church, we kindly ask that you keep a modest dress code in mind. To add vibrancy to our celebration we ask that you avoid wearing blue, black, and white. Instead please opt for other colors and patterns that express joy and festivity! We look forward to celebrating with you in style!

Columbus does have it's own airport though small and costly to fly into. The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is closest after that. Columbus is about an hour and a half from the Atlanta Airport. There are shuttle services that run back and forth throughout the day. Groome Transportation $49 to Fort Moore $69 to Columbus

Things to do in Columbus!

Visit the National Infantry Museum or the Columbus Museum for free! Take a stroll down the beautiful Chattahoochee riverwalk in downtown Columbus. Take a zipline across the Chattahoochee from Georgia to Alabama. Browse for hours at Joey's Thrift Mall Visit the Columbus Botanical Gardens. Grow your knowledge at the Coca-Cola Space and Science Center. Check out our famous historic district to see examples of southern homebuilding and walk and discover historical markers describing life in the south and Civil War events! Visit Atlanta, only an hour and a half away, and discover the Coca-Cola Museum, the Georgia Aquarium (the biggest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere and it has WHALE SHARKS), the Centennial Olympic Park constructed for the 1996 Summer Games, the Atlanta Zoo (where you can take advantage of one of the last opportunities to see a Giant Panda in the United States), and many more sights!

In keeping with the church's schedule, our ceremony will begin at 2:00pm whether everyone has arrived or not. Please arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to the ceremony beginning to ensure you can be seated appropriately.

It is the Catholic Church's doctrine that we are unable to extend an open invitation for everyone to receive communion. If you are not Catholic, or Catholic but unprepared to receive, we invite you to come forward at communion to receive a blessing (by crossing your arms across your chest) and to be one with us in this faith community praying for Christian unity. The priest will give a brief explanation at Mass regarding the reception of Holy Communion and will invite those who are either Catholic and out of practice or not Catholic to come forward for a blessing, if they so choose.
