Q + A

Do I need a passport?

You sure do! Wait times for passports can range between 3-6 months, so please do not wait! Also, please check to make sure your passport will not expire while you are there! If your passport expires on or before June 10th, 2024, you need a new passport!!!!

Is the resort all-inclusive?

Yes! Finest Playa Mujeres is an all-inclusive resort. The cost of your stay also covers unlimited food and beverage (including alcohol)! Your round-trip transportation to and from the airport is also included.

Do I need to book my own flight?

Yes! Flights should arrive into Cancun International Airport (CUN). Please note that Cancún currently operates on Central Standard time.

Where can I find information about the resort?

We recommend downloading “The Excellence Collection” app. The app is free to download. After downloading and selecting the correct resort (Finest Playa Mujeres), you will have access to information about daily offerings, entertainment/activities, restaurant options, restaurant hours, menus, dress codes (this is important in order to dine at certain restaurants), bar locations, room types, general hotel information, a tv channel guide, room service menus (there is even a pillow menu!)...the list goes on! The app is a one stop shop for everything you need to know about the resort. You can also visit the Finest Playa Mujeres Website and check out their instagram!

Is there a dress code?

YES! This resort is very strict when it comes to their individual restaurant dress codes. The dress codes vary restaurant to restaurant. For example, some restaurants require men to wear long pants and closed toe shoes. We recommend downloading "The Excellence Collection" app. There you can view each restaurant and their specific dress code requirements. We highly recommend taking a look at this before packing! For the wedding, the attire is “beach dressy.” Wear what you would typically wear to a wedding, but maybe scale it back a half notch so you are comfortable and cool! Also, ladies, I suggest a block heel of some sort. A skinny heel may be difficult to walk in at our reception venue!

What do I need to pack?

Playa Mujeres in June is known to be hot and humid (sorry, April and May were booked - we tried!) We recommend light colored, loose, comfortable clothing. Of course, don't forget your bathing suit(s) and wedding attire! Wedding attire is "beach dressy." Wear what you would to a typical wedding but maybe scale it back a half notch so you are comfortable and cool. Be sure to also check the dress code requirements of the different restaurants you may want to dine at, the resort is very strict about their dining dress codes. We are also planning a "welcome white party" so don't forget to pack your best white outfit! Lastly, do your best to not forget odds and ends and pack for the “unexpected.” The resort gift shop significantly marks up items like sunscreen, burn cream, toothpaste, deodorant, advil, bug spray, etc. I have read that 1 bottle of sunscreen there is $50!

Does the resort accept USD? Cash? Credit Cards?

Yes! No need to exchange USD for pesos. The resort also accepts credit cards.

Is transportation to and from the airport provided?

When you book your reservation through our room block / travel agent Lauren, your round-trip transportation to and from the airport is included. Lauren will help you schedule your transfer with Discova. It is approximately a 25-minute drive from Cancun international airport to finest playa mujeres.

Is Finest Playa Mujeres safe?

Yes! Finest Playa Mujeres is located in a gated and secured complex. In order to access the resort, guests have to pass through three security gates. Finest understands that safety is a paramount concern for all travelers and they have taken extensive measures to make safety a priority of all guests. As a standard of safety and service, they have a stringent set of operating procedures to ensure guests can travel with peace of mind. Security gates are at all property entrances to control every person who enters and leaves the resort. Security checkpoints are also between the employee area and the resort where employee belongings go through a screening process. Security checkpoints are also at each end of the beach to ensure that only people who are working or staying at the resort can enter the premises. Qualified guards make rounds throughout the entire property, 24 hours a day. Lastly, this particular region remains within the top beach destinations globally and receives multiple thousands of international visitors on a daily basis. Every visitor to Cancun remains within a safe environment to enjoy every tourist attraction, including resorts, bars, restaurants, parks, shopping areas, beaches, and so on. As always, be smart, make good decisions, and you are likely safer in Playa Murjeres than some major cities in the US! If you aren’t a cartel member, looking to become a cartel member or trying to buy drugs from a cartel member, you will be fine.
