***More rooms were added to the block on 2/19*** Rooms have been blocked at the Holiday Inn at the Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs, where the Bride and Groom will be staying. They are pet friendly and are about a 6 minute drive from downtown Omaha. Free parking and airport and local shuttle services. We will be setting up transportation to and from the wedding venue from here. Can begin booking 6/19/24 and rooms have to be booked by 4/24/25 to receive the block rate. Right in the center of the old market in downtown Omaha, this is about a 3 minute walk from Upstream Brewing. Below is the link to the room block for the Hyatt in downtown Omaha. There is the option of getting the block rate for Thursday-Sunday or Friday-Sunday, along with free parking during your stay. Must book by April 17th, 2025 to receive the block rate. The closest airport is OMA (Eppley airfield in Omaha). It is about 10-15 minutes from downtown Omaha and about 10-15 minutes from the Holiday Inn hotel at the Ameristar.&nbsp;The next closest airport would be in Lincoln, NE (LNK). That is about an hour from downtown Omaha ****Please note that the Eppley airfield is currently in their second phase of an expansion. We have enjoyed our few visits to the zoo during our time living in Omaha. As you are driving around Omaha and the Council Bluffs area keep an eye out for their desert dome.

Take some time to visit the Old Market in downtown Omaha. Filled with many shops and restaurants this one of our favorite areas to visit. While your there check out Upstream Brewing, Old Market Candy Shop, the passage way with art galleries and restaurants, Ted and Wallys Ice Cream shop,

Kiewit Luminarium

Take some time to walk through the 3 parks of the river front in downtown Omaha: Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park and Lewis and Clark landing. Take some time to relax in the hammocks, play bocce ball, walk across the pedestrian bridge over to Iowa (located near the Kiewit Luminarium)

Located in Omaha's old Union Station, learn about Omaha's history and explore the various exhibits that they have on display.

The Durham Museum

Kids allowed until I believe 7pm Located in the Benson Neighborhood of Omaha, Beercade has lots of craft beers and old arcade games. Attached to Beercade is St. Andrews a whiskey bar with various whiskeys. Also located in the Benson neighborhood are a couple of our favorite places to eat: Burrito Envy, Barchen Beer Garden and Virtuso Pizzeria.

If your wanting to take some time to relax by the lake, Lake Manawa in Council Bluffs is a relaxing place to go for a picnic or to walk/drive around. We enjoy kayaking, fishing and swimming here.

Lake Cunningham is the closet lake to our home, which has a great 6 mile walking trail going around it and lots of rentals you can get to enjoy some time on the lake. Unfortunately cannot swim here.
