Our Story 1

Where it all began...

The First Night

It was a chilly night in Old Town, Maine where Grace got ready to go out with several people from high school whom she had not seen in many years. At this point, Old Town only had one bar (The Pub as locals called it) and it was in walking distance from Sarah's home so that was were we went.

(as a quick side note, the amount of times I had been at a bar in my lifetime was probably the same number of times Dave had been at the bar that week, needless to say, I was not a bar person)

At the same time, Dave had just finished working a long shift and his friends convinced him to go out. Him and his friends went to a place up the street from the pub early in the night, and when his friends called it quits, he ventured over to The Pub.

As the night progressed, we played fooze-ball together and Mr. Coffe continued to make me very uncomfortable (like in a good way) by saying you must not be around here you are too beautiful and kept going on an on. The jukebox kept playing with the girls and my favorite hits of the time: Monster by Eminem, ft. Rihanna; Timber by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha; Play it Again by Luke Bryan; Dark Horse by Katy Perry; and many more. But the song I want to focus on is Shots by LMFAO ft. Lil. John, when this song came on, I convinced Dave to buy me and my friends all shots... but he couldn't just settle for something simple like tequila and lime, he had to step up the game and get flaming Dr. Pepper shots. So needless to say (remembering my lack of bar experience) I was impressed. I will also note that not only was I impressed, but I was set on fire, as Dave passed mine to me, like a gentleman, it spilled on my pants and they were temporarily set on fire, which he helped me extinguish due to his quick thinking and many years of setting thing on fire in a kitchen.

At this point, I asked him if he had a snap chat and he said no. That should have been my first key to run away cause he was old ;) but my teacher instinct kicked in and I said it was easy to set up and that way we could message each other. The screen name he choose was Chefdcyep, so at this point I had a good understanding of what his job might be, or that I might never go hungry, which anyone that knows me well knows I never stop eating.

The night concluded with my girlfriends and I walking home. Dave got home another way, but that's a story to ask him ;)

Concerts (wrote by Grace)

Now I love country music, always have. At this point, the waterfront was just beginning to make a name for itself and starting to get great artist.

Some of our most memorable ones are Ed Sheeran, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line, Dave Mathews, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Kenney Chesney, Tim Mcgraw, and many more.

Now, not all of these were we in the venue (or as I will continue to explain, some we were not supposed to be in the venue) and some of them we just enjoyed from outside.

One that produced very good life lessons, I should have known before ... The Jason Aldean Concert! Grace had this great idea to look around on random websites to find tickets of people that could not go. She found some that were too good to be true, 2 PIT tickets for $300, first WARNING sign. I continued to correspond (like on the PHONE we are talking) with this "poor" man whose family had died and he could not drive up. The tickets were to be transferred to me electronically after I western unioned him some money. So the naive Grace I am, i did so... lets just say no tickets came to me. I was so devastated that Dave called a cop friend (the one from the first night at the bar) and the man said that he could not help and to call the town the person lived, which Dave had already done, but Dave's friend did say that there were several people selling tickets on the various trade in sites. So Dave proceeded to surprise me and get us some. Needless to say, that was an expensive but memorable night, both performers were spectacular. FGL could have easily been the main performers, there was fire and firework things, it was crazy.
