Grace grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, with her younger sister and Maid of Honor, Olivia, and they were both raised by their mother, Christy. When she was young, Grace had ring-tight curly hair, a face full of freckles, and always seemed to be the tallest in her class. In her elementary days, she performed almost every year (with a bit of encouragement from mom) in her school's talent show, singing solo to songs like Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me". In 6th grade, Grace was selected by her teachers to attend a National Young Leadership conference in Washington DC, where she was recognized for her academic achievements and leadership skills. Grace was also a part of a talent agency where she had opportunities to model for Hallmark and Sprint, and she was selected to audition for a lead voice role in The Polar Express movie.
Through middle school and onto high school, Grace was in choir, played on a competitive volleyball league, and was on both the cheerleading and dance teams. She was one of three sophomores to earn a place on the varsity cheer team in high school and was then selected her senior year as the team captain. Grace was also nominated by her senior class to be on the homecoming court as homecoming queen and was selected as a part of a senior-class committee to organize graduation. At graduation, Grace was also recognized as a part of the National Honors Society based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Grace then pursued her degree at the University of Central Missouri. During her freshman year, she joined Tri Sigma sorority with over 100 other women and was selected to be the sorority's Panhellenic delegate to the chapter's executive committee and arranged campus events with other sororities. She graduated Cum Laude in the college of business with a Bachelor of Science Degree in public relations and a minor in communications. Grace started her first job soon after graduation in a marketing role that provided her with opportunities to travel across the country.
Grace moved into her first apartment in the heart of downtown Kansas City, where she lived on her own on the 26th floor of a high rise building. During this time is when she and Ethan met, fell in love, and became engaged. Grace now works as a marketing manager at a top ten accounting firm in the U.S., specializing in government health care services. She manages the firm's multiple websites, social media pages, external communication to government agencies, and she continues to travel to conferences across the country.
Ethan grew up in Oak Grove, Minnesota, with his older sister Kiersten, his older brother and Best Man, Spencer, and was raised by his parents Kathryn and Dean. When Ethan was young, he was known for being energetic, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to compete in games with his family and friends. He was involved in sports starting at a young age playing football, baseball, and basketball and was coached by his dad for many years.
In middle school and throughout high school, Ethan was involved in choir and played the saxophone in band. He was also heavily involved in sports, playing both basketball and football in high school. Ethan was selected as captain of the basketball team his senior year, was voted MVP by his teammates and coaches and helped lead his team to the Minnesota state tournament, where he was awarded academic all-state. During his senior year, Ethan was also nominated by his class to be on the homecoming court. He excelled academically, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, was a part of the National Honors Society and was selected as the AAA Award Winner in high school for his achievements in academics, athletics, and arts.
Ethan attended Hamline University and played collegiate basketball for 4 years as a power forward and was selected as captain his junior and senior years. Ethan graduated college with his Bachelor of Science Degree in biochemistry. With his degree, Ethan worked in pharmacies over the next year while he determined if he wanted to go onto pharmacy school.
After moving to Kansas City, Ethan decided to change his career path and instead went back to school to get certified in information technology. Soon after graduating the program, Ethan started at his current job working in a senior information technology and systems engineering role at a wealth management advisory firm, named on Forbes' Best-in-State Wealth Advisor List. Ethan is responsible for updating technology systems and frequently travels to newly acquired locations across the country, collaborating closely with managing directors. Ethan's current office is located on the Country Club Plaza and just so happens to also be next door to Grace's office building.
