Vacation Lodging

If you plan to arrive or stay for more than the ceremony, there are several hotels and airbnb's in Anchorage. In our opinion, you will be able to see the most if you book an airbnb in Anchorage for a few nights, then pick one other area to visit (we recommend Seward, Homer, or Denali) and spend a night or two there. You will need a car, though there is a (expensive) train that travels between some of these places.

Flights

We strongly recommend booking flights as soon as possible. They are expensive now, but will continue to get more expensive the closer we get. If flying from a smaller NY airport (Rochester or Buffalo), expect to need a full day of traveling each way. If flying from NYC, it is about 6 hours if you find a direct flight. If flying from the midwest, Chicago has direct flights. Milwaukee often has reasonably priced options as well.

Note that AK has its own time zone. We are 4 hours behind eastern time and 3 hours behind central time.
