COVID-19 Update

A Note on Covid-19 and FAQ's

&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Pandemic Update:&nbsp;With an&nbsp;increase in spreading&nbsp;variants, our greatest concern continues to be the health and safety of our guests.&nbsp;At this time, based on local public health&nbsp;recommendations, unvaccinated guests should wear masks indoors, however,&nbsp;fully vaccinated guests do not need to wear masks.&nbsp;&nbsp;In an abundance of caution, the venue has implemented&nbsp;socially distant seating, and&nbsp;masks&nbsp;and ample sanitizing stations will&nbsp;be&nbsp;provided throughout the wedding day. The ceremony and reception will be held mainly indoors, with happy hour occurring outside.&nbsp;As much as we want everyone to be able to celebrate in person, we expect that if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to covid-19 within two weeks of the wedding to stay home and toast us from afar.&nbsp;

Based on current mandates and restrictions, what precautions/protocols will be in place? 











-Unvaccinated guests are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.&nbsp;Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for guests.&nbsp;Tables will be socially distanced, with a maximum of 10 people at each table. We will do our best to seat guests with family members from same household.&nbsp;





Will masks and hand sanitizer be provided?





-Masks will be provided if you need one. Hand sanitizing stations will be available during the happy hour and reception.&nbsp;











How many guests do you plan to invite?&nbsp;











-170 guests will be in attendance&nbsp;











How will the food be served?&nbsp;











-Appetizers will be available for self-serve and&nbsp;passed by serving staff. Dinner will be plated style and served by staff. Dessert will be self-serve.&nbsp;











Is there dancing?











-Yes, there will be dancing with a large dance floor.&nbsp;











Is there still transportation provided to/from reception?











-Yes. &nbsp;

Several months before Matt planned to leave the&nbsp;Air Force and return to Columbus, Ohio, mutual&nbsp;friends &mdash;Jeff and Emily&mdash;were&nbsp;planning a&nbsp;set-up. A few&nbsp;days after&nbsp;Matt came&nbsp;home,&nbsp;a large group (including Gretchen and Matt)&nbsp;were invited&nbsp;to a blink 182 concert in downtown Columbus. The two newbies&nbsp;did not talk very much that night,&nbsp;but luckily, they were able to&nbsp;set up&nbsp;date #2 at a local dive bar. (again...&nbsp;thanks Jeff and Em!)

Matt told silly jokes and&nbsp;old Air Force tales&nbsp;while Gretchen&nbsp;mostly listened with a&nbsp;stoic smile. Gretchen shared stories of teaching and tutoring kiddos, and Matt recognized her kind heart. Gretchen drove Matt home on date #2, and before he got out of the car, Matt&nbsp;asked if he could repay her by taking her out to dinner. Matt’s smooth demeanor sealed the deal, and she said yes.





A few weeks later they went to the local food truck festival on the Scioto Mile. They walked, talked, and scarfed Kevin Bacon Ranch Fries&nbsp;with cheese&nbsp;and overpriced&nbsp;beer. They capped&nbsp;the evening&nbsp;sharing a Graeter’s ice cream cone as the bright&nbsp;Columbus skyline reflected on the river.





Two and a half years later in Yellow Springs, Ohio...With the wedding&nbsp;venue booked and the down payment non-runfundable for 8/8/20...Matt got down on one knee and asked Gretchen if she would marry him. Smooth, and again,&nbsp;she said&nbsp;yes.
