Sending Payments in Madagascar

For certain services in Madagascar (for example, paying for excursions, meals, or accommodations like Grace House), the easiest, safest and most affordable way to send money internationally is through mobile transfer apps such as Taptap Send or MoneyGram. Most local vendors use these services, many restaurants accept them, and they help you avoid carrying large amounts of cash. The local currency in Madagascar is Ariary, 1 USD = 4,666.15505 MGA. Although you can use credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) in certain restaurants and hotels, they are not widely accepted, nor are there many ATMs in the city. Rate exchange kiosks are available at the international terminal at Antananarivo Ivato airport to get cash.

Are there health precautions to consider?

Malaria, Yellow Fever, Cholera, and Hepatitis A are huge risks in Madagascar. Travelers are advised to consult with a doctor before traveling to consider scheduling the appropriate vaccinations and take health precautions. Vaccinations are recommended, and Yellow Fever and Cholera vaccinations may be required for the Visa process.

Are there restrictions on bringing children to the wedding?

For families bringing children, please be advised that the venue requests that all children under the age of 14 be closely supervised. We kindly ask that you help ensure your children remain nearby and refrain from wandering around the venue. Your support in helping maintain a peaceful and respectful environment is truly appreciated.

Travel Tips

For your comfort and well-being, we kindly request that you avoid raw vegetables and consume only beverages from sealed bottles and containers. We also suggest packing masks to protect from air pollution (recommended N95) and hand sanitizer.

Are pictures allowed during the ceremony?

We are having an unplugged ceremony and would appreciate your help refraining from taking photos during our ceremony. Following the ceremony, photos are encouraged.
