Travel Document Requirements
A visa is required to enter Madagascar. You will also need a valid passport and a green card (if applicable). There are two ways to obtain your visa:
✈️ Option 1: Visa Upon Arrival (Airport Visa)
You may apply for your visa when you arrive at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo.
A visa fee must be paid at the airport. Please expect to wait in line, especially during busy travel times. This option is convenient but may require extra time at the airport after your flight.
✈️ Option 2: Apply Before Travel (Recommended)
You may apply for your visa prior to departure.
Processing typically takes approximately 7 business days.
This option requires mailing your passport to the Embassy.
Applying in advance allows you to avoid waiting in line upon arrival.

What airports to travel through?
San Cristobal Boutique Hotel
Located 7 minutes from Ivato International Airport and 30 minutes from the Ankorondrano business and shopping center, the San Cristobal is a contemporary design boutique hotel that has an in-house restaurant. Any questions can be addressed via WhatsApp +261 34 05 024 91. Reservations can be canceled 2 days or more before the arrival date, free of charge, and payment made upon arrival.
Grace House Hotel Ivato
Just 5 minutes from Ivato International Airport, this charming, family-run bed & breakfast offers warm hospitality, airport transfers, and personalized city tours.
Booking:

A 30% deposit is required. Payments for reservations may be made via apps: MoneyGram, XE, Taptap Send, or bank transfer.
All on-site hotel expenses must be paid in cash.

To reserve a room:
1. Message the property to request their payment details
