Our Wedding

Back in late spring of 2020, COVID-19 sent us packing our bags as the University of Nebraska-Lincoln announced we would be finishing out the second semester of our freshman year at home. The week that announcement was made, Bennett had finished putting together all of the details for the Red Rose Alumni Formal, an annual event hosted by Alpha Gamma Sigma - an agricultural fraternity Bennett was a member of on campus. Bennett’s fraternity brother, Zach, had asked that week if he’d be interested in taking his girlfriend Ella’s older sister, Hadley (also a freshman at UNL), as a date to the formal. As hard as it was to turn down the opportunity to dance with a pretty brunette Chi Omega that weekend, Bennett made the (somewhat lame) excuse that it would be better to ride solo as he wouldn’t have the time to be an attentive date while running around taking care of everything going on that night. Little did we know the announcement to “temporarily” suspend in-person classes would result in the cancellation of the formal and an unscheduled return home (Lenexa, KS for Hadley, Paxton, NE for Bennett) and a full five months before we could return to Lincoln the following August.&nbsp; Luckily for Bennett, who was spending the summer working on the family farm, Zach persisted in his effort to connect the two of us and Hadley reached out in-between the waitressing shifts and swim lessons she was teaching as a chance for to us get to know one another before eventually returning to school. It wasn’t long before those texts turned into late night phone calls and two people who had never met in person (despite somehow never crossing paths in a shared lecture course the previous semester) knew basically all of the get-to-know-you details there was to know about each other by the end of the summer. We finally met in person in August of 2020, and had our first official date that same weekend at Hadley’s favorite restaurant: Texas Roadhouse. That fall semester was filled with dinner dates, football tailgates, and plenty of firsts as we met each other's families and got to experience the places each of us called home. We had the privilege of sharing the majority of our college experience together, and neither of us could’ve asked for a better partner to encourage and cheer us on in school and in our campus involvements, whether that be Hadley working at the Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and competing on the UNL Equestrian Team or Bennett working as an NHRI Leadership Mentor and serving on the executive team of AGS. Upon graduation from UNL, Hadley moved back to Kansas City and began working for the KU Memorial Unions (Rock Chalk!) while Bennett stuck around Nebraska and took a job with Farmers Cooperative in Dorchester. We spent a year driving back and forth to see each other every couple weekends, but about halfway through that year we were ready to make the jump and say yes to the future we had both hoped for since our sophomore year. After a couple months of weekend “potential engagement” dates and Bennett fake proposing on multiple occasions, on June 22nd of 2024 Bennett proposed at Pioneer’s Park in Lincoln and we celebrated our engagement with both of our families there to share in the excitement. Bennett moved down to Lawrence KS and started working as a grain originator for Cargill a couple months after the engagement, and we decided on Lyons, CO as the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. We are incredibly excited to get to share our special day with the family and friends who have played a part in shaping us as individuals and as a couple, and even more so are excited for the support and guidance you all will share with us in the future as we enter into marriage with Christ at the center of our relationship. Here’s to May 30th, 2026 and the future Perlingers!

How do I RSVP and what date does it need submitted by?RSVP instructions will be provided on your physical invitation. April 3rd is the deadline to RSVP. We appreciate your timeliness in letting us know the total number of guests to plan on for our big day! Are plus-ones and children allowed?Plus-ones and additional family members included will be provided on your individual invitation/RSVP. What is the dress code for the wedding?We kindly request a formal dress code for the ceremony and reception (suit and tie for gentlemen, long dresses for women). What is the itinerary for the wedding day?The ceremony will begin at 4:00pm Mountain Time, with cocktail hour and dinner/reception to follow immediately after the conclusion of the ceremony. The reception will end at approximately 11:00pm. Where will the ceremony and reception be held?Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the beautiful venue RiverBend, with the ceremony being outdoors and an indoor reception to follow. The address is 501 W Main St, Lyons, CO 80540 and parking is available on site. Any special instructions on getting directions to the venue?Nope! Mapping on your phone takes you straight to the property, and signs will be posted to assist with parking. RiverBend is located on the northwest side of Lyons right off of Highway 36/West Main Street and on the edge of North Saint Vrain Creek. Are there reserved blocks of hotel rooms available to book?Yes! Please visit the Travel tab for information on lodging and booking within our hotel blocks. Will there be transportation to and/or from the hotels?Uber and other popular app-based transportation options are available in the area as well as shuttle services in Boulder, Longmont, and Estes Park if you are in need of a ride home at the end of the night. There are many great options for places to stay in Colorado! Boulder, Longmont, and Estes Park are all within close driving distance (approx. 20-30 minutes) to Lyons RiverBend at 501 W Main St, Lyons, Colorado 80540). Estes Park is a beautiful vacation town right next to Rocky Mountain National Park and is a little more windy drive through the edge of the mountains, but a great place to visit if you've never been! Boulder is a fun and charismatic college town with easy highway access to Lyons. Longmont has all the basic amenities you'd need and is likely the most convenient for those traveling from Nebraska. We have wedding blocks reserved in both Longmont and on the northeast end of Boulder, but there are additional options for lodging including multiple chain hotels in Boulder and Longmont, an assortment of AirBnB options available around Estes Park and Boulder, and multiple inns/motels/cabins to choose from as well! Do keep in mind, spring weather near the Rockies can be unpredictable and there is the occasional chance of snow late in May especially as you get further into the mountains.
