Islesboro! (the best place)
Islesboro the place hates tourism. You really need a car or bicycle to get around the island, as there is no public transportation, but there is a lot of fun things to do. The Islesboro Island Trust has around 10 trails on the island that have easy nature trails. Our favorite are Turtle Head, Lilly Guest, and Herbert Preserve. Please check their website for directions. There are many public beaches including Town Beach and Big Tree Beach - both great for swimming. As far as food we have two markets Durkee’s and Island Market they are evenly matched stalking good but different items (Durkee’s is the only place to buy liquor and according to Eifion a better candy selection). There is also amazing cafe located in the Community Center, everything is truly spectacular!
