What is the dress code for this event?
We would loved to see our guests dressed up! Our suggested attire is semi-formal or cocktail wear.
Can I wear white to this event?
Unless you'd like to be the one to marry Joe, we kindly ask you to avoid white, cream, or ivory dresses and jumpsuits.
Can I still attend if I do not RSVP or if I RSVP "No"?
Unfortunately, if you do not send an accepted RSVP by September 3rd, we will not be able to accommodate your presence due to restrictions established by our venue.
Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?
We have hired an AMAZING photographer and a WONDERFUL videographer for our event so we kindly ask you to refrain from taking photos and videos during the ceremony. Simply sit back, relax, and enjoy this day with us.
Is there an open bar?
Yes! We will be having an open bar. However, we will be doing a "dollar dance" so we strongly encourage cash if you would like to participate.
What is a dollar dance?
This is a dance attributed to the Eastern Europeans. What it entails is putting money into a bag, often a frilly or satin one, in exchange for a dance with the bride and an accompanying shot of whiskey.
Will there be a Cookie Table?
Absolutely! There will be a cookie table and plenty of assorted desserts for all! If you do not know what a cookie table is, please watch the following clip of a recent segment from The TODAY Show explaining the history and tradition of the infamous cookie table.

What is the schedule for the provided transportation?
Currently we plan on having the buses arrange a pick up of guests from the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club at 1 PM and drop guests off at the church around 1:30PM. After the ceremony, the buses will take guests back to the Beach Club for Cocktail Hour.
Please check this website for updates to the bus schedule as we receive RSVPs and finalize bus numbers.
If I want to write a check as a wedding present whom should it be made out to?
Due to military regulations, Haley and Joe got legally married in January of 2023 in order to be stationed together after living in Germany. Haley has since legally changed her name to Haley Reckard-Zemen to reflect her marital status for military reasons. Joe has decided not to hyphenate his name and will remain Joseph Zemen. They will still gladly be referred to as “The Zemens” or “Joe and Haley Zemen” socially, but for legal (and financial) purposes please note Haley’s new last name.
Why is Haley in a leg brace???
Unfortunately, Haley recently tore her ACL and her meniscus. She is having surgery the week following the wedding but is looking forward to boot, scoot and boogie-ing on the dance floor as best as she can! She may be seated for a majority of the day and you may find her rolling around in an office chair but she promises that it won’t affect the festivities!
