Halie and Jason met back in March of 2015.

As the story goes, Halie was a cherished friend of Randy's, Jason's younger brother, and it was she who extended the invitation for an unforgettable camping trip, where the world was blanketed in a thick, glistening layer of snow—nearly three feet deep. The air was crisp and pure, and Randy, feeling the pull of adventure, invited Jason to join him on this winter escapade. What Randy didn’t realize, as they set out into the frozen wilderness, was that he was unknowingly guiding his brother toward a future he had yet to imagine, for it was there, among the snow-covered pines, that Jason would meet the woman who would one day capture his heart and become his wife.

As Halie fondly remembers, she was living her dream—immersing herself in the vibrant energy of music festivals, traveling the country, wandering from one place to the next, and reveling in the freedom of finding herself. It was during this time, that she invited Jason to join her at a festival called, Summer Camp, that Halie was so lucky enough to win a ticket too. Jason, being the ever-devoted soul, made a sacrifice that spoke volumes of his feelings—he sold his most treasured possession, his beloved Game Cube, just to be by her side at that magical festival, knowing this was a moment that could change everything.

Jason often recalls the gentle warmth of Halie's hand in his, a constant presence throughout their long drive across the country. With every mile, he found comfort in the simple connection they shared—her touch grounding him, her presence igniting something within him that he had never known before. They began to share the feeling that the road ahead seemed less daunting with each other by their sides, and in that shared space, they began to glimpse the promise of a future filled with love and togetherness. It was as if their souls had already begun to intertwine in a way that words could never capture. So, it was there, in the quiet moments of that journey, that Halie and Jason embarked on the beautiful adventure of life together, their hearts forever bound as one.

In 2017, Halie and Jason took a leap of faith, packing their dreams and hearts and heading toward the majestic beauty of Glenwood Springs. Halie had wandered through this enchanting town since childhood, her heart always drawn to its charm, and she knew deep down that it would be the perfect place to call home. For Jason, the move was the realization of a long-held dream—a life in the mountains, where the towering peaks spoke to his soul and the thrill of snowboarding on fresh powder filled his every thought. With a heart full of adventure and a spirit that craved the rugged beauty of nature, he knew this was where he was meant to be.


The journey, however, wasn’t accomplished without the unwavering support of their families. Especially the patience of Jason's father, Don, which played a crucial role in making the transition possible. The love and encouragement of both families surrounded the couple, giving them the strength and courage to take this bold step together. It was through this collective support that their dream of living amongst the mountains became a reality.


In their new home of Glenwood Springs, Halie and Jason’s love blossomed even more beautifully, taking root in the heart of this enchanting town. It became the foundation of their shared life, a place where their dreams intertwined with the landscape, and where they could grow together. The town, with its warm community and welcoming spirit, enveloped them like a cozy embrace, providing the perfect backdrop for their love to flourish. As their roots sank deeper into this supportive soil, they were not only grounded in their home but surrounded by a circle of wonderful friends who brought laughter, strength, and warmth into their lives. The sense of community in Glenwood Springs became a vital part of their journey—fostering connection, encouraging growth, and offering them a shared sense of belonging. It was through these friendships that they felt truly supported, knowing that no matter where life took them, they would always have a loving and encouraging place to return to. With this foundation, they ventured farther, fueled by the love of their community, confident in the knowledge that they had both a home and a family of friends to come back to, wherever their adventures took them.

Throughout 2018, Halie and Jason continued to travel across the Western United States, exploring new landscapes and building memories together. Each journey, each shared experience, was a stone laid in the foundation of their love. It was during these travels, as they reveled in the beauty of the world around them, that their bond deepened and blossomed into something even more remarkable—something that would last a lifetime. These adventures, filled with laughter, discovery, and shared wonder, were the heartbeat of their relationship, shaping it into the love story it is today.


Their hearts beat in unison as they discovered the simple joy of road trips, winding their way through the country’s most breathtaking national parks. Together, they marveled at the towering peaks and tranquil lakes, letting the beauty of the world around them deepen their bond. From the sweeping grandeur of Glacier National Park to the untamed wilderness of Yellowstone and the Tetons, and the lush, misty forests of Olympic National Park, Halie and Jason’s journey together was a mosaic of natural wonders, each adventure strengthening the love they shared. One of their most unforgettable experiences was their first whitewater rafting trip together through Cataract Canyon—a thrilling, weeklong adventure that tested their endurance and understanding of one another, forging a deeper connection, where each rapid they conquered brought them closer still.


But it wasn’t just the awe-inspiring landscapes that shaped their relationship. Along the way, they visited family scattered across the country, creating memories that spanned generations, and further weaving their lives into the fabric of those they loved. To all the family members who opened their homes and hearts to them year after year, Jason and Halie are endlessly grateful. Those shared moments, those acts of love and kindness, have enriched their lives and their love story, creating a tapestry of memories they will cherish forever.
