Our Story... So Far

Halie and Jason met back in March of 2015. As the story goes, Halie was a cherished friend of Randy's, Jason's younger brother, and it was she who extended the invitation for an unforgettable camping trip, where the world was blanketed in a thick, glistening layer of snow—nearly three feet deep. The air was crisp and pure, and Randy, feeling the pull of adventure, invited Jason to join him on this winter escapade. What Randy didn’t realize, as they set out into the frozen wilderness, was that he was unknowingly guiding his brother toward a future he had yet to imagine, for it was there, among the snow-covered pines, that Jason would meet the woman who would one day capture his heart and become his wife.

2015 - First Meeting

As Halie fondly remembers, she was living her dream—immersing herself in the vibrant energy of music festivals, traveling the country, wandering from one place to the next, and reveling in the freedom of finding herself. It was during this time, that she invited Jason to join her at a festival called, Summer Camp, that Halie was so lucky enough to win a ticket too. Jason, being the ever-devoted soul, made a sacrifice that spoke volumes of his feelings—he sold his most treasured possession, his beloved Game Cube, just to be by her side at that magical festival, knowing this was a moment that could change everything. Jason often recalls the gentle warmth of Halie's hand in his, a constant presence throughout their long drive across the country. With every mile, he found comfort in the simple connection they shared—her touch grounding him, her presence igniting something within him that he had never known before. They began to share the feeling that the road ahead seemed less daunting with each other by their sides, and in that shared space, they began to glimpse the promise of a future filled with love and togetherness. It was as if their souls had already begun to intertwine in a way that words could never capture. So, it was there, in the quiet moments of that journey, that Halie and Jason embarked on the beautiful adventure of life together, their hearts forever bound as one.

2016 - Summer Camp

In&nbsp;2017,&nbsp;Halie&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jason&nbsp;took&nbsp;a&nbsp;leap&nbsp;of&nbsp;faith,&nbsp;packing&nbsp;their&nbsp;dreams&nbsp;and&nbsp;hearts&nbsp;and&nbsp;heading&nbsp;toward&nbsp;the&nbsp;majestic&nbsp;beauty&nbsp;of&nbsp;Glenwood&nbsp;Springs.&nbsp;Halie&nbsp;had&nbsp;wandered&nbsp;through&nbsp;this&nbsp;enchanting&nbsp;town&nbsp;since&nbsp;childhood,&nbsp;her&nbsp;heart&nbsp;always&nbsp;drawn&nbsp;to&nbsp;its&nbsp;charm,&nbsp;and&nbsp;she&nbsp;knew&nbsp;deep&nbsp;down&nbsp;that&nbsp;it&nbsp;would&nbsp;be&nbsp;the&nbsp;perfect&nbsp;place&nbsp;to&nbsp;call&nbsp;home.&nbsp;For&nbsp;Jason,&nbsp;the&nbsp;move&nbsp;was&nbsp;the&nbsp;realization&nbsp;of&nbsp;a&nbsp;long-held&nbsp;dream—a&nbsp;life&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;mountains,&nbsp;where&nbsp;the&nbsp;towering&nbsp;peaks&nbsp;spoke&nbsp;to&nbsp;his&nbsp;soul&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;thrill&nbsp;of&nbsp;snowboarding&nbsp;on&nbsp;fresh&nbsp;powder&nbsp;filled&nbsp;his&nbsp;every&nbsp;thought.&nbsp;With&nbsp;a&nbsp;heart&nbsp;full&nbsp;of&nbsp;adventure&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;spirit&nbsp;that&nbsp;craved&nbsp;the&nbsp;rugged&nbsp;beauty&nbsp;of&nbsp;nature,&nbsp;he&nbsp;knew&nbsp;this&nbsp;was&nbsp;where&nbsp;he&nbsp;was&nbsp;meant&nbsp;to&nbsp;be. The&nbsp;journey,&nbsp;however,&nbsp;wasn’t&nbsp;accomplished&nbsp;without&nbsp;the&nbsp;unwavering&nbsp;support&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;families.&nbsp;Especially&nbsp;the&nbsp;patience&nbsp;of&nbsp;Jason's&nbsp;father,&nbsp;Don,&nbsp;which&nbsp;played&nbsp;a&nbsp;crucial&nbsp;role&nbsp;in&nbsp;making&nbsp;the&nbsp;transition&nbsp;possible.&nbsp;The&nbsp;love&nbsp;and&nbsp;encouragement&nbsp;of&nbsp;both&nbsp;families&nbsp;surrounded&nbsp;the&nbsp;couple,&nbsp;giving&nbsp;them&nbsp;the&nbsp;strength&nbsp;and&nbsp;courage&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;this&nbsp;bold&nbsp;step&nbsp;together.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;through&nbsp;this&nbsp;collective&nbsp;support&nbsp;that&nbsp;their&nbsp;dream&nbsp;of&nbsp;living&nbsp;amongst&nbsp;the&nbsp;mountains&nbsp;became&nbsp;a&nbsp;reality. In&nbsp;their&nbsp;new&nbsp;home&nbsp;of&nbsp;Glenwood&nbsp;Springs,&nbsp;Halie&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jason’s&nbsp;love&nbsp;blossomed&nbsp;even&nbsp;more&nbsp;beautifully,&nbsp;taking&nbsp;root&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;heart&nbsp;of&nbsp;this&nbsp;enchanting&nbsp;town.&nbsp;It&nbsp;became&nbsp;the&nbsp;foundation&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;shared&nbsp;life,&nbsp;a&nbsp;place&nbsp;where&nbsp;their&nbsp;dreams&nbsp;intertwined&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;landscape,&nbsp;and&nbsp;where&nbsp;they&nbsp;could&nbsp;grow&nbsp;together.&nbsp;The&nbsp;town,&nbsp;with&nbsp;its&nbsp;warm&nbsp;community&nbsp;and&nbsp;welcoming&nbsp;spirit,&nbsp;enveloped&nbsp;them&nbsp;like&nbsp;a&nbsp;cozy&nbsp;embrace,&nbsp;providing&nbsp;the&nbsp;perfect&nbsp;backdrop&nbsp;for&nbsp;their&nbsp;love&nbsp;to&nbsp;flourish.&nbsp;As&nbsp;their&nbsp;roots&nbsp;sank&nbsp;deeper&nbsp;into&nbsp;this&nbsp;supportive&nbsp;soil,&nbsp;they&nbsp;were&nbsp;not&nbsp;only&nbsp;grounded&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;home&nbsp;but&nbsp;surrounded&nbsp;by&nbsp;a&nbsp;circle&nbsp;of&nbsp;wonderful&nbsp;friends&nbsp;who&nbsp;brought&nbsp;laughter,&nbsp;strength,&nbsp;and&nbsp;warmth&nbsp;into&nbsp;their&nbsp;lives.&nbsp;The&nbsp;sense&nbsp;of&nbsp;community&nbsp;in&nbsp;Glenwood&nbsp;Springs&nbsp;became&nbsp;a&nbsp;vital&nbsp;part&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;journey—fostering&nbsp;connection,&nbsp;encouraging&nbsp;growth,&nbsp;and&nbsp;offering&nbsp;them&nbsp;a&nbsp;shared&nbsp;sense&nbsp;of&nbsp;belonging.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;through&nbsp;these&nbsp;friendships&nbsp;that&nbsp;they&nbsp;felt&nbsp;truly&nbsp;supported,&nbsp;knowing&nbsp;that&nbsp;no&nbsp;matter&nbsp;where&nbsp;life&nbsp;took&nbsp;them,&nbsp;they&nbsp;would&nbsp;always&nbsp;have&nbsp;a&nbsp;loving&nbsp;and&nbsp;encouraging&nbsp;place&nbsp;to&nbsp;return&nbsp;to.&nbsp;With&nbsp;this&nbsp;foundation,&nbsp;they&nbsp;ventured&nbsp;farther,&nbsp;fueled&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;love&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;community,&nbsp;confident&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;that&nbsp;they&nbsp;had&nbsp;both&nbsp;a&nbsp;home&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;family&nbsp;of&nbsp;friends&nbsp;to&nbsp;come&nbsp;back&nbsp;to,&nbsp;wherever&nbsp;their&nbsp;adventures&nbsp;took&nbsp;them.

2017 - Big Move To Glenwood Springs

Throughout&nbsp;2018,&nbsp;Halie&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jason&nbsp;continued&nbsp;to&nbsp;travel&nbsp;across&nbsp;the&nbsp;Western&nbsp;United&nbsp;States,&nbsp;exploring&nbsp;new&nbsp;landscapes&nbsp;and&nbsp;building&nbsp;memories&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Each&nbsp;journey,&nbsp;each&nbsp;shared&nbsp;experience,&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;stone&nbsp;laid&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;foundation&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;love.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;during&nbsp;these&nbsp;travels,&nbsp;as&nbsp;they&nbsp;reveled&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;beauty&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;world&nbsp;around&nbsp;them,&nbsp;that&nbsp;their&nbsp;bond&nbsp;deepened&nbsp;and&nbsp;blossomed&nbsp;into&nbsp;something&nbsp;even&nbsp;more&nbsp;remarkable—something&nbsp;that&nbsp;would&nbsp;last&nbsp;a&nbsp;lifetime.&nbsp;These&nbsp;adventures,&nbsp;filled&nbsp;with&nbsp;laughter,&nbsp;discovery,&nbsp;and&nbsp;shared&nbsp;wonder,&nbsp;were&nbsp;the&nbsp;heartbeat&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;relationship,&nbsp;shaping&nbsp;it&nbsp;into&nbsp;the&nbsp;love&nbsp;story&nbsp;it&nbsp;is&nbsp;today. Redstone was founded by John Cleveland Osgood, an ambitious turn-of-the-century entrepreneur. Osgood recognized the vast potential for developing a full scale coal mining operation in Redstone and Colorado. In 1892 the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company was born. The high-grade coking coal of the Coal Basin area, and the beehive coking ovens in Redstone, spurred the construction of the Crystal River Railroad. To improve the living conditions of the miners, John Osgood constructed 84 Swiss chalet style homes in Redstone to house miners with families and an elegant 20 room inn (now the Redstone Inn) for bachelor employees. It wasn't long before Osgood's mining company was taken over in a bitter stock war, resulting in the closing of the mines and coke ovens.

This turn-of-the-century jewel was completed in 1902 by industrialist and coal magnate John Cleveland Osgood. At the time, Osgood was one of the wealthiest people in the United States (purportedly ranking 6th) and rubbed elbows with the rich and powerful. John D. Rockefeller, J. Pierpont Morgan, and Teddy Roosevelt all spent time at the estate. It is also known as Osgood Castle and Cleveholm Manor, its original name.&nbsp;Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, the Castle provides a unique glimpse into the personal styles and social culture of America’s elite at the turn of the 20th Century. Built-in the Tudor style, the Castle is filled with the finest furnishings of the period: wooden paneling designed by Gustav Stickley, intricately cast brass globe lights created by Louis Tiffany, and countless pieces of furniture and artwork collected by the Osgoods on their frequent trips to Europe.

Redstone Coke Oven Historic District

Propaganda Pie began in the Historic District of Redstone, Colorado. Inspired by pizza created in Detroit, Michigan using rectangle “blue pans” taken from the automotive assembly lines in the mid 1940’s. The pan originally was designed to hold and pass small parts and tools on the assembly line. Legend has it that a pizzeria called Buddy’s Rendezvous in Detroit, MI transformed this industrial tool to a now infamous pizza pan. The “blue pan” as a cooking vessel creates a crispy crust and a signature caramelized cheese border.
