There is something so beautiful found in the most simple of forms, from a colorful sunrise in the morning, to a sweet hello from a friend, and even the gospel itself. The Lord is so kind to reveal to us his character and grace in the simplest of things, and our story is just that beautifully simple.

There was nothing elaborate to our meeting, we have always gone to church together when we started at the University of Alabama and always ran in similar circles. You can find pictures of us just mere feet away but yet not interacting. It was not until Hallie got invited to a game night that it all change, from playful (more competitive than anything) competition to funny banter between us there was a sweet ease to how we got to know each other. There was no dramatics and jaw-dropping moment it was just simply right. We went to a sorority date party together and shortly after that Nolan asked Hallie out on a proper date right outside of Capstone their home church after a worship night and it was simply right.

From there the dates became more as we grew more close and Nolan made it official on March 18, 2023 which made it all the more sweet when he proposed two years later on March 16, 2025. And in the deep sorrows we have faced and triumphant mountains we have climbed already two things have been very consistent the Lord's sovereign grace over us and the not complicated love we have. A love that does not require one to perform but rather be real and a love that does not seek to gain but seek to lay down for one another, imperfectly, but yet still simple. And we cannot wait for May 9, 2026 where we get to become one and vow to each other the love we already have for all our days and more. Knowing the simple gospel and the love our God has for us is the hand that will continue to lead us along the way.
