Justin and Hana start hanging out the summer of 2018 through mutual friends. On Sept 14, 2018, before meeting co-workers at Feast in Portland, she asks if she can introduce him to them as her "boyfriend". They officially become a couple!

Hana and Justin immediately bond over their love of adventure, athletics and nature! Running has led them to beautiful places and epic challenges. They've gone on countless runs together, ran in multiple races, and Hana has crewed & paced Justin on 3 100 mile ultras over the course of their relationship!

Another activity that defines their relationship is climbing! Here is Justin sitting (sleeping?) in line (starting at 4 am) to try and get an open site at Camp 4 in Yosemite (SUCCESS!). On this trip they definitely had some "epics" that tested their relationship (IYKYK).

On January 9th, Hana and Justin fulfill a lifelong dream and adopt a puppy! Many thanks to Shelby, Justin's sister, who had her eye out for us while working at Oregon Humane Society.

A big part of our life is skiing! Justin grew up racing but when they started dating, Hana had previously skiied for a single season - now she's keeping right up and is finally a bit more advanced than the pizza-french fry technique. Hailey loves the snow too so it's always a great adventure going up to the mountain together.

At the end of March 2021, Justin and Hana up-root from their childhood home of Oregon and move to Albuquerque, sight-unseen. It's become a wonderful life transition, full of new outdoor adventures, friends, and roadrunners! Maybe a few rattlesnakes too...

The west-coast Liners and Hiratsukas love art. Justin has gotten to join in the annual tradition of painting a Christmas masterpiece to add to Duane's collection. We hope to fill the Liner's whole house with paintings as the years go on.

We've been to a few festivals and we like to dress up, get silly, kick those light-up shoes around and have a good time with friends! Hana especially likes a good dose of glitter and some groovy glasses.

While in Thailand, Justin proposes! It was an amazing day that starting with climbing. They then adventured through a cave, and found a private beach, swam in the ocean at sunset where he asked the big question and she said 'yes'!

It would be a miss not to mention that a large thing that bonds Justin and Hana is their love of animals. We have 10 chickens but dream of someday having enough money, spare time and land to have a burro, a goat or two, some quacky ducks and a few box turtles.

We actually don't have many climbing photos together... go figure! But shoutout to our friends who have been such a crucial part in bringing us closer! From City of Rocks, to many weekends at Smith, to those who have trucked all the way out to Ten Sleep, day trips to Socorro, THANK YOU! It's literally one of our favorite things :)

We look forward to a life of teamwork, love and overcoming mountains together - both real and metaphorical. We've experienced so much love and beauty over the last 6 years - we wouldn't trade it in for anything and look forward to what's next!
