Picture of Hiking on the Idaho side of the Tetons
Exploring the Jackson side and Grand Teton National Park is a must... but the Idaho side of the Tetons, in my opinion, is twice as cool and less crowded! and it is also free! Below are a few options in terms of hikes if you are interested in exploring 1. Table Rock (the best views!) 2. Devils Staircase 3. Crows Nest 4. Beards Mountain 5. Little's Peak (more backcountry) 6. Aspen trail ( more in town and less elevation) 7. Wind caves (very popular, short, cool) 8. Mike Harris campground (great for mountain biking) 9. Green Mountain (amazing views and less crowded!) 10. Grand Targhee hiking (lots of options). Bannock trail is wonderful and gets you to the top with great views all the way!

Teton River

Picture of Teton River

SUP, kayak, float, canoe, whatever your way down a peaceful Teton River in town! If you are careful, you might see a moose! They are pretty common actually

The stretch of the Teton River near Driggs and Victor tends to be calm and placid, making it perfect for a relaxed paddle on a hot summer day, even if you don’t have any experience.

There are plenty of access points, so you can easily plan a float yourself if you have two vehicles. If not, the Teton River Shuttle will move your car from your start point to your endpoint while you’re out on the water (how handy is that?).

If you need equipment, Teton River Supply rents a huge variety of canoes, kayaks, rafts, and other watercraft, and they’ll shuttle you from town to the river. Or if you’re planning to stand-up paddleboard, Wai Mauna Paddleboard Rentals specializes in SUPs – each rental even includes a short lesson – and they also operate a river shuttle.
