There are lots of lodging options up in Brainerd, Baxter, or Nisswa. Our three preferred hotels are Grandview Lodge, Arrowwood Lodge, and Country Inn & Suites. If you'd like to make this a long weekend vacation we highly recommend staying at one of the Gull Lake resorts (Grandview, Madden's, Cragun's, or Quarterdeck Resort) to enjoy the lake and resort amenities. If you are just coming up for the wedding festivities for 1-2 nights, we recommend staying at one of the nearby hotels in Baxter (Arrowwood, Country Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn, or several others), which will be more reasonably priced. You can also stay at Airbnbs and VRBOs. These go quickly, so book early. If you do book at Arrowwood or Country Inn, mention the "Erdman Blaisdell wedding" to grab one of our blocked rooms.

We will be staying at Grandview Lodge and will be up north from Wednesday to Sunday.

We love your kiddos and they are more than welcome to be up for the weekend but are planning for the wedding events to be adults only. We don't want that to deter anyone from coming though, so please reach out if that is an issue.

Yes! There will be a shuttle to and from the wedding venue from all three preferred hotels (Grandview Lodge, Arrowwood, and Country Inn & Suites). If you are staying at another hotel or airbnb, you might be able to get dropped off at the end of the night, just message Hannah with your hotel or airbnb address and she will check with the shuttle service. There will not be a shuttle on Friday night.

That is a great option! We recommend booking this early as they go very fast. You can find options on Gull Lake or any of the surrounding smaller lakes. The biggest thing to keep in mind is getting to and from the wedding. Our shuttle service will not be picking up at individual Airbnbs before the wedding, however, there is a chance they could do drop off at the end of the night. This is dependent on where your Airbnb is and if you let Hannah know in advance so the shuttle service can accommodate in their schedule.

No. There are basically no ubers or lyfts (apparently one guy named Kevin is still driving up there, but his schedule is unknown - Kevins, am I right?). The best way to get around is your own car or scheduling a taxi. Brainerd Area Taxi is the best. If your lodging is far from the venue, you can schedule a pickup from this taxi service in advance.

The welcome party has indoor and outdoor options and is on the lake, so usually has a breeze. The wedding ceremony and reception are both fully indoors with A/C. The cocktail hour will be indoors and outdoors.
