Do I have to hike with either the groom or the bride?
If solo hiking is more your style, no need to pick sides! Feel free to hit the trail whenever works best for you. We'll see you at the top for the ceremony at noon!
How long will the picnic be after the ceremony?
As long as you'd like! The bride and groom plan to at least hang out for a few hours, but if you're eager to get back to civilization we completely understand.
How hard of a hike is it to Lamoille Lake?
According to AllTrails the main trail is 4.3 miles out & back with 1,007ft elevation gain.
It classifies the hike as "hard." However, the couple would define it more as "moderate," and Hannah is NEVER shy to complain about a hard hike.

Is there an easier way up?
Yes. There is the option to take the Lamoille Stock Trail. As it's meant for livestock, it is a bit more gradual and there are fewer creek crossings, roots and rocks to maneuver around/through. According to AllTrails it is 3 miles with 935ft elevation gain.
This is the trail we recommend taking if you typically don't hike often. Make sure to have sun protection, because it is exposed the entire way up. The start of this trail is to the right of the main trail. There aren't any trail markings, but it's a very defined path. Here is a link to the hike on AllTrails.

What should I wear on the hike?
Lamoille's weather over Labor Day weekend can be unpredictable. The couple recommends you pack/dress in layers and have PLENTY of sunscreen.
What other hiking gear should I consider?
Comfortable, supportive hiking shoes. The bride is team hiking boot, while the groom is team trail runners. They both agree whatever shoe you choose should be well broken into.
Hiking poles can also be useful, especially through some of the unpredictable stream crossings.
What about food?
The couple will have a sack lunch waiting for you at the top, with the choices you selected on your RSVP. However, additional snacks are NEVER a bad idea.
beverages?
You'll need to pack the water you'll be drinking on your way up, however there will be a communal water filter at the top. Please bring any other beverages you might want to enjoy.
Miscellaneous Items?
A light blanket or seat cushion for the picnic is recommended if you're picky about seating.
Can I bring my fishing pole and bait?
YES! Fishing is very common at Lamoille Lake. The lake contains different species of trout.
Are we allowed to swim in the lake?
Lamoille Lake is a very cold alpine lake, but swimming is allowed. The newlyweds will be jumping in. Consider bringing a bathing suit, towel or a change of clothes if you'd like to join the cold plunge.
